With Leather’s Watch This: The New York Yankees!

Written by Ashley Burns / 10.03.12

Welp, it sure ain’t as exciting as last year’s Wild Card Wednesday, when the St. Louis Cardinals made the playoffs on the final day of the MLB and went on to win the World Series. Oh, and something else happened that day with the Tampa Bay Rays winning on a walk-off home run to make the playoffs or something like that, but nobody was even watching that game. Everyone was glued to the Cardinals blowing out the Houston Astros.

Since the Cards clinched the NL’s second wild card spot last night thanks to Mark Ellis and the Los Angeles Dodgers, I guess we can pay just a little attention to the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles tonight, as they could end up in a tie for first place in the AL East. You know, if that’s something that interests you.

Wild Card Wednesday: Kate Upton Took A Tour Of The New Madison Square Garden

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.30.11

I probably have a few million first world complaints that I keep to myself for the sake of not being struck by lightning, but if I had to throw one out there, I’d say that Kate Upton doesn’t Tweet enough fun pictures of her and her friends. And no, it’s not because I like to sit in a dark room and photoshop myself into those pictures, despite what any court documentation might say. But when Kate does Tweet pics of her random adventures, it proves one of my oldest theories – life must be good for a gorgeous 19-year old supermodel.

Kate, a huge New York sports fan, recently toured the newest additions to Madison Square Garden and I’m sure it was the greatest thrill of her life. Must have been a million times better than those lame ass trips to Caribbean islands and sitting front row at anything on this planet that has a front row. But she Tweeted the pic of her and her friend Lizzy Glynn having fun so who am I to complain?

Oh, and if you weren’t aware, Kate was also photographed for Diddy’s new coffee table book about the female posterior, fittingly titled, “Culo.” I happen to have her contribution after the jump, as well as this week’s Wild Card Wednesday. Join me, won’t you?

Vanessa Hudgens Is The Best Lakers Fan Ever

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.23.11

Piss off, Tom Cruise. You already ruined Katie Holmes.

My favorite thing about the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is that I have every excuse in the world to be as lazy as I want because tomorrow I get to watch football and do absolutely nothing else. Thank you, pilgrims. Thank you, Native Americans. Although I am sorry about how everything turned out. Really wish I could do something about that, but I can’t, so let’s settle on some high fives and legal gambling.

If you’re wondering what the hell I’m talking about and if I’m going to make a point, the answer is Vanessa Hudgens and yes. I have a huge thing for V-Hudg and for some reason I just now saw a bunch of photos of her at Los Angeles Lakers games last season, and her shirt is practically falling off and I think that’s awesome. Also, she walks around in public wearing shorts that shouldn’t be legal while also wearing Lakers shirts and that justifies my existence as a sports blogger.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I will be around tomorrow doing NFL stuff and while I know that I’m not as fun as our cooler older brothers at Kissing Suzy Kolber, hopefully we make fun of the Miami Dolphins and talk about cheerleaders, too. And Brandon and I will be posting other fun things here and there. In the meantime, let’s all give thanks to Vanessa Hudgens’ love of the Lakers.

Wild Card Wednesday: Hooters Loves Matt Leinart, Celebs Love UFC, And Zhou Lulu!

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.16.11

Welcome to another installment of Wild Card Wednesday, as I try to cram together all of the awesome, random things that we’ve been missing out on in favor of the big stories and half-naked Marisa Miller…

At some point on Sunday, Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub hurt his foot and now it looks like his season is over. I’m sure that the Texans won’t completely give up on Schaub until a doctor does something cool and drastic like slam his glasses down and yell, “Damn it, I’m not God!” In the meantime, the second coming of Matt Leinart is upon us, and somewhere there’s a Jacuzzi not being boned in.

Last night, Houston tight end James Casey Tweeted the above image of a local Hooters showing support for the new QB. Unfortunately, after calling the Hooters, I learned that they ran out of space and it should have read: “Hey Leinart, we believe you gave us all gonorrhea.” OK, I may have made that up. But would you bet against it?

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you, Texans fans. God knows this would be my response to losing Schaub…
