My Favorite BlazerDancer? Probably The 70-Year Old In The Satin Jacket

Written by Brandon Stroud / 02.14.13

Because YOLO, here’s Portland Trail Blazers color commentator Mike Rice donning a satin jacket and a pair of sunglasses to do “the Gangnam” and “the Dougie” with the BlazerDancers. It’s cute, and also should make you feel good about every time you have refrained from dancing. (via That NBA Lottery Pick)

IMPORTANT PERVERT NEWS ALERT: Michelle Jenneke Made A Swimsuit Video For Sports Illustrated

Written by Brandon Stroud / 02.12.13

Michelle Jenneke Sports Illustrated

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE.

Michelle Jenneke, the contagiously enthusiastic Australian hurdler we made famous last summer who then abandoned us completely to hang out with theCHIVE (like they did anything), is the star of a new Sports Illustrated swimsuit video that is 0% “trying to show people swimsuits” and 100% “LOOK AT MICHELLE JENNEKE IN A SWIMSUIT.”

Highpoint of the clip: Michelle saying that “somehow” the video of her dancing got a lot of hits. YEAH MICHELLE, SOMEHOW.

(Yes, they make her do the dance. Probably 50 times.)
(Video is after the jump.)

Wade Boggs, Hall Of Fame Groove Buster

Written by Brandon Stroud / 12.18.12

Wade Boggs Oklahoma City ThunderWade Boggs is no stranger to being awesome on television … this is the guy who got punched out by Barney Gumble for arguing Pitt The Elder against Lord Palmerston and shilled the hitting prowess of former WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect. Here, we see the Hall of Fame third baseman dancing at an Oklahoma City Thunder game, because a camera is on him, and because Wade Boggs is the best.

I try not to be super “Internet” when I share these videos and just type “check out wade bocks dancign click here …” and hit publish, but … yeah, that’s it, it’s Wade Boggs dancing.

Or it could be TV’s Richard Karn. As they get older, it gets harder to tell the difference.

Ping Pong And Gangnam Style, Together At Last

Written by Brandon Stroud / 11.09.12

Ping Pong Gangnam Style

One of my favorite news updates from The Onion, besides the one about the “ask murderer,” is Ping-Pong Somehow Elicits Macho Posturing. Now, thanks to table tennis player and apparent Internet reader Adam Bobrow, that story has become reality.

Bobrow went Full Gangnam Style after scoring a point in the Chancellor Cup in Manila, The Philippines. Maybe if his opponent hadn’t been balls-deep in a Carly Rae Jepsen Flip camera parody video himself, he would’ve seen a ping pong ball flying at him. Bobrow’s excuse:

I was invited to do an exhibition match that was filmed by the national news… I thought you guys would enjoy this. By the way, BIG thanks to my partner in this exhibition… my “opponent”… Peter Francisco! He’s a much better player than me and has a great attitude! Playing with him was an absolute pleasure.

Translation: “I won at ping-pong, so I did a horsey dance and shook my junk around until somebody made me stop. Deal with it.” It’s officially the greatest moment in table tennis history, assuming that stuff with Forrest Gump wasn’t real.

Video is after the jump.

Erin Andrews Dances With Vanilla Ice, Learns What It’s Like Having A Roni

Written by Brandon Stroud / 06.14.12

Vanilla Ice and Erin Andrews dance to Ice Ice BabyYo, VIP! Let’s briefly kick it!

Yesterday we shared with you the thrilling reality of Vanilla Ice on SportsCenter, promoting his third-best theatrical effort to date (behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze and Cool As Ice), Happy Madison’s That’s My Boy.

That appearance could only go in so many directions, and assuming Tokka and Rahzar never burst into ESPN studios and start fighting turtles to a ninja song, it went in the best one — Vanilla Ice 90s-dancing to ‘Ice Ice Baby’ with Erin Andrews. She tried to get away before the jackers jacked. How do you know it’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’ he’s singing and not Queen and David Bowie’s ‘Under Pressure’? ‘Under Pressure’ goes ding ding ding dinga ding ding, but ‘Ice Ice Baby’ goes ding ding ding dinga ding ding CHING ding-ding ding ding dinga ding ding. Obvious difference.

Never forget, this glorious moment was made possible by ESPN’s dearth of coolness and Adam Sandler’s terrible movies. Word to your mother.

The World’s Fastest Christian, Breakdancing To The Godzilla Soundtrack

Written by Brandon Stroud / 12.02.11

jeff-gordon-breakdancing

I thought he was just a cereal box model, but apparently Jeff Gordon is a champion race car driver and B-Boy.

The breaking of dance occurred during the NASCAR “After the Lap” event in Las Vegas, a championship banquet referred to by the Las Vegas Sun as a “press conference on steroids” that plays out like the last 30 minutes of any Blue Collar Comedy Tour stop, right down having Bill Engvall sit there squinting and laughing while people around him try to be entertaining. The skinny (and white) from SB Nation:

Gordon said he started break-dancing in middle school because that’s what all the cool kids did. In fact, the four-time NASCAR champ said he’d sneak into the bathroom and break-dance every morning before school, because they weren’t allowed to dance in the hallways.

You can check out video of the hip-hoppery after the jump, but be aware that at no point during the clip does he accidentally kick Bill Engvall in the face.
