This Is How You Lose Them: Wake Forest Basketball Fans In Revolt

Wake Forest basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik has a fan problem.

They don’t like him.

The students don’t like him. The townies don’t like him. The Board of Trustees doesn’t like him. The alumni base especially doesn’t like him. And fair or not, the line between that dislike being personal or professional continues to blur in the aftermath of his third straight losing campaign heading the Demon Deacons.

“Jeff Bzdelik has never endeared himself to the fan base, and he also hasn’t won many games,” said Martin Rickman, who covers Wake Forest sports for the website SB Nation. “That’s a recipe for disaster.”

Presbyterian Are Right On Time, Tricky

College football season finally began this weekend, and with the first week of college football comes games between teams who are less than evenly matched, to say the least. And while these games are very rarely entertaining, this weekend’s game between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Presbyterian College Blue Hoes bucked that trend, if only for a few of seconds. And, yes. They are seriously called the Blue Hoes.

Obviously, Wake Forest wiped the floor with Presbyterian, a college which I know absolutely nothing about, 53-13, but Presbyterian had the most interesting play of the game. Eric Casillias (it could be someone else, lay off me I’m starving –Ed) gives the call, and his voice squeaks at least three times.
