What you’re looking at is not an April Fool’s Prank. It’s not the work of a pop art groundskeeper, and it’s not an Arena League team who lost the arena part in a tornado. This is the actual, existing University of Central Arkansas football field with gray and purple (and black) grass. Everybody thought they were kidding when they announced the change on April 1. “Ha, great joke, guys,” we all said. “Wouldn’t it be pointless and insane if somebody actually did that?”
Well, somebody actually did that, and next season every Central Arkansas football game will be played on a colossal Trapper Keeper. Twitter reporstman Logan Kersey drove by the 300-foot awful looking polo shirt to take pictures, and that’s what you see here. The gates were locked, so he couldn’t walk up and see if they’d constructed the grass out of ash and Purplesaurus Rex. More teams should be doing this. I want to see Michigan State pull a Tampa Bay Lightning and dye their field green and white.
Here’s another pic if you want to look at it (which you don’t):
Be careful: Ball wired for death.
