Today’s Best Time Wasting Tumblr Account: ‘Waldo At The Masters’

Written by Ashley Burns / 04.12.13

I may or may not have a Google news alert set for “Paulina Gretzky wearing tank tops in public”, but it worked in my favor today because Wayne Gretzky’s pride and joy is currently running around Augusta National supporting her boyfriend Dustin Johnson. I have no clue where he currently stands, but if I were him I’d never be standing again.

Hit it.

Anywho, that was my strange, unrelated way of talking about the new Tumblr account that will be almost as hot as Paulina this weekend, “Waldo at the Masters”, which is photoshopped pictures of America’s favorite Hide N Seek champ hanging out in the gallery at Augusta National. There’s not much else to it, and there doesn’t have to be. I love Waldo and I love the Masters tournament, so unless someone finds a way to incorporate Taco Bell’s Volcano Tacos, I’m pretty confident that this is going to be my favorite thing of this weekend.

Someone Photoshopped Alberto Del Rio With Porn Stars Because This Is The Internet

Written by Ashley Burns / 02.06.13

In case you’re unfamiliar with the medium, Tumblr is a very interesting blogging network that allows people to post and re-post pictures, videos, music, writing, art, etc. while connecting with each other like a traditional social media outlet. It’s also essentially a condensed version of the entire Internet, sort of like grocery store sample trays of everything the Web has to offer, including pornography and some of the most insane fan fiction that you would never, not in one million years, believe that people could write.

But it does. It’s mind-boggling, and every time I find something that pushes my boundaries of insane, I make sure to send it along to Danger Guerrero and Josh Kurp so I’m not the only one who has to live with it. This latest discovery, though, is one that I’m sharing with all of you, because it involves a WWE Superstar whom we all pretty much like in World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, and it also involves adult film actresses, which some of you like as well. *points to everyone*

Hoo Boy, The Internet Hates Alex Rodriguez

Written by Ashley Burns / 10.19.12

The cover of today's New York Post.

Now that the Detroit Tigers have swept the New York Yankees, we can expect a ton of speculation about what the world’s most important baseball team will do in the offseason. Hell, for the first time that I can remember, people were actually speculating about the Yankees trading a player while they were still competing for the American League Championship. That’s remarkable even for “We’re the Yankees, we get whatever we want” standards. And, of course, the focus of all of the speculation will be around embattled third baseman and Grade A poon hound, Alex Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was slowly drawing the ire of Yankees fans as he was just awful at the plate throughout the entire playoffs (for the last three years, mind you) and the cherry on top was the New York Post’s story about A-Rod, who is dating Torrie Wilson, hitting on an Australian bikini model from the Yankees dugout after he had been benched and while his team was losing. Even Donald Trump bought a first class ticket on the hate train.

‘Muhammad Ali Goes To Mars: The Lost Interview’ Is The Best Flashback Of The Week

Written by Ashley Burns / 09.20.12

Yesterday, for some unknown reason, Vince punished me by sending me a link to the Tumblr Storyboard interview with Kreayshawn, who is very hip and with it, according to the kids. Fortunately, after I was done scrubbing that out of my brain, I noticed another interview, this one with Muhammad Ali. Actually, the main interview is with a man named Michael Aisner, who was just 17-years old when Ali was on the verge of not only becoming the baddest man of all-time, but also one of the most politically iconic athletes of any generation.

Aisner and his friends ran a high school radio station – the same kind that our friend Richie “The Big Bopper” Belding ran in his day – and they also had some big balls with which they reached out to some celebrities to set up interviews. Amazingly, an acquaintance of Ali not only took a call from these relentless kids, but he eventually granted the interview.

Tim Tebow Confessions: Tumblr Account Or Failed ESPN Reality Series?

Written by Ashley Burns / 08.15.12

Yesterday, after we wished New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow a very happy 25th birthday, ESPN apparently turned the volume up to 11 and threw the Teebster a birthday party for the ages. Sadly, I missed that, so I just imagine that it was the complete opposite of Kirk Cameron’s birthday party. But a lot of the Tweeps that I follow on Twitter were none too pleased with it, especially our colleague at Awful Announcing, as he really had a banner day.

People love (and hate) Tebow and ESPN knows that, so the “Worldwide Leader” is going to treat him just like the media golden boy that he is while ignoring real sports news, because who cares about that crap anyway? Luckily, I stumbled across the Tumblr site “Tim Tebow Confessions” yesterday, and I think it’s just perfect for the folks in Bristol, CT so they can send in their deepest inner thoughts to let us know what they really think about Tebow without being embarrassed.

All kidding aside, though, when you read these confessions – a few of them quite head-scratching – you’re going to think at least half of them were written by Skip Bayless.

Don’t Ever Grow Up, Internet: The Very Best Olympic Pooping Diver Photoshops

Written by Ashley Burns / 08.02.12

Yesterday, the above picture popped up on this Reddit thread (or possibly here first, according to Internet police) with a series of other divers photoshopped on the toilet, and quite frankly I’ve never been so proud of the Internet. So I went in search of more diver photoshops, hoping that I would find a golden treasury – perhaps even some holy divers *air guitars* – and what I actually found was an endless obsession with English diver Tom Daley. Even worse, millions of women keep telling me that I look just like Daley, and I’m flattered, but I’m definitely more handsome.

Despite the lack of an infinite amount of pooping diver photoshops, I was mildly impressed with the results of an hour-long Tumblr search, based on the numerous posts on various sites about *taps mic* did you ever notice how Olympic divers make the funniest faces? Then I saw what the fine folks in the Reddit photoshop battles thread were doing with it and I felt much better. Check out their efforts after the dump, er, jump, and if you can beat these, post your best effort in the comments and you might get a free With Leather t-shirt.
