TRAVIS HENRY IS ‘VIRTUALLY BROKE’

Written by JOSH Z / 03.12.09

Former NFL running back Travis Henry (not pictured) is trying to get back into the NFL, which is a good idea when you’re paying child support to nine different children from nine different women. But in the meantime, he’s being profiled by the New York Times, almost as a cautionary tale as we head to this spring’s NFL Draft.

“[My kids are] my blood; I’ve got to deal with it,” Henry said of fiscal responsibilities to his children. He spoke by telephone from his Denver residence, where he was under house arrest until recently for the drug matter.

“I love all my kids,” he said in the interview, but asserted he could not afford the designated amounts, estimated at $170,000 a year by Randy Kessler, his Atlanta lawyer. Kessler said Henry was virtually broke.

“I’ve lost everything in this mess I’ve gotten myself into,” Henry said.

Everything, it seems, except those damn kids. When I was a kid I owned a turtle and a goldfish at the same time and I about lost my mind. I wonder if those 9 kids ever get together and talk about how many kids they’ll have when they reach Dad’s age. That family reunion could be the next Spike Lee documentary. It couldn’t be any worse than Tales From The Hood.

DETAILS ON THE TRAVIS HENRY COCAINE BUST

Written by Matt / 10.02.08

The affidavit on former NFL running back Travis Henry’s drug trafficking arrest has been released, and it’s far, FAR better than you could have possibly imagined.  Read it here.  It’s basically a ready-made movie script.  All you have to do is fill in the dialog and hire a competent director.

The background info: two men get pulled over for speeding in Montana.  State troopers search the car and find a duffel with three kilograms of cocaine and six pounds of marijuana.  One man, cooperating suspect-1, reveals that they were headed to Billings to sell the drugs to earn back money lost after a robbery ruined a precious transaction.

Henry was the “money guy” and was owed the $40,000 lost in the robbery of Customer 3. As a result, Henry was threatening CS-1 and his family demanding that CS-1 repay the $40,000 lost by Customer 3.  According to CS-1, Henry said CS-1, CS-1′s family, Customer 3, and Customer 3′s family were all “dead” if they did not come up with the money.

In order to avoid being killed by Henry, Mack and CS-1 came up with a plan to rip off Customer 1 by supplying him with one kilogram of real cocaine and two kilograms of “fake” cocaine (drywall).  The $40,000 made from the sale of the two sham kilograms would be used to pay off the $40,000 debt owed to Henry and Mack.

The snitch then helped set up a sting with law enforcement officials:

TRAVIS HENRY HAS A NEW CAREER

Written by Matt / 10.01.08

Good news!  Travis Henry, a free agent since getting cut by the Broncos, found a new job!  And not a moment too soon, what with those nine illegitimate kids to take care of.

The bad news is, he had a pretty bad day at work:

Henry has been arrested for trafficking multiple kilograms of cocaine, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration announced today.

Henry and another man, James Mack, were arrested Tuesday after “as a result of a multi-kilogram cocaine transaction” in Centennial… The two men are being held pending the filing of federal drug charges in U.S. District Court later today in Denver.

Keep in mind that Henry had a drug suspension overturned by the NFL, so it’s entirely possible this is getting blown out of proportion.  I’d like to remind With Leather readers that all people are innocent until proven guilty, especially athletes.  I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for this.  Like, he was probably just try to sell a lot of cocaine.

TRAVIS HENRY GETS THE BRADYFAN TREATMENT

Written by Matt / 10.15.07

BradyFan83 returns to form with this tribute to Broncos running back/marijuana enthusiast/unprotected sex devotee Travis Henry, who last I heard was appealing the year-long suspension handed down by the NFL.   If you like Billy Joel and the NFL — and let's face it, those two go together like peanut butter and suede — you should enjoy this happy tune.

TRAVIS HENRY SMOKED POT

Written by Matt / 10.05.07

Broncos running back Travis Henry tested positive for marijuana, meaning that the league's top rusher and father of nine now faces a one-year suspension (it's his second offense).  It also signals the end of Western Civilization.  Well, maybe not.  But the inhalation of marihuana fumes can be deadly, I've heard.  MDS sez:

Newsday is reporting that Henry is suing the NFL to prevent it from using the results of the drug test to suspend him. If the lawsuit fails — and it seems like an incredible long shot — he could also appeal, but the chances are very good that Henry will be suspended for a year, and that the suspension will come soon.

If you legal experts know of a way I can do drugs and then sue my employer for me doing drugs, I'd really appreciate it.  Seems like a win-win to me.  On the one hand, you get to do drugs.  On the other hand, well really I'm just in it for the drugs.  And the boners.  Hey can I sue someone for giving me a boner?  They can be pretty painful sometimes.

Wait, where was I?  Boners always distract me.  Oh, right.  Travis Henry.  Anyway, dude, enjoy the year off.  You can spend a month with every kid you have and still have three months dedicated solely to unprotected sex.  Or just forget the kids and focus on unprotected sex.  Yeah, that's probably the better idea.

TRAVIS HENRY ENJOYS UNPROTECTED SEX

Written by Matt / 08.27.07

44% of Travis Henry\'s work thus far

This story's been floating around for a couple days, but it just wouldn't be right if I ignored the news that new Broncos running back Travis Henry has nine children from nine different women in several states throughout the South, and has been ordered to establish a $250,000 fund to cover a new $3000/month child support payment thanks to a history of frivolous spending.

[Judge Clarence] Seeliger wrote that the football player displayed "bad judgment in his spending habits," dropping $100,000 for a car and $146,000 for jewelry. Meanwhile, Henry fell behind on support payments for his child with Beacham that were mandated by a previous order. Threatened with jail, he borrowed $9,800 from his former team, the Tennessee Titans, to pay the bill. according to court records.

Remember, people: judge not, lest ye be judged.  I always say, Let he who hasn't borrowed money from his employer to pay child support after buying a $100,000 car cast the first stone.  Oh, wait, that's me.  Line to cast stones starts here, people.
