In a story we've been avoiding because it involves penises (and not even Olympian penises!), the two wrestlers from Nebaska who posed for a gay porn site have been booted from the team. Just more time to star in McG movies.

Paul Donahoe and Kenny Jordan were let go Tuesday, three days after a blog posted images of them taken from Fratmentv.com, a Web site featuring naked or partially clothed male athletes.

"The history of behavior of these men, including the current matter, does not reflect the standard of excellence we aspire to on and off the mat," coach Mark Manning said in a statement. "We have outstanding student-athletes in our program and we will move forward in a positive manner toward our goals.

"I want to personally apologize for any embarrassment that may have been caused for our athletic department, the university and our fans."

Manning didn't address the nature of the wrestlers' past transgressions, and didn't immediately return a message left on his cell phone seeking comment.

Jordan and Donahoe have had a series of run-ins with the law in Lincoln. Jordan has paid fines for possessing or consuming alcohol as a minor, trespassing and assault, and Donahoe for maintaining a disorderly house and having an open alcohol container.

Those minor transgressions, of course, were all hunky-dory until the two guys decided to get paid to show their man bits online. Who'd've thought Nebaska wouldn't be a hotbed of progressive thought? Oh, right. Everybody.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle is a Scottish soccer club (with a catchy name!) that had hopes to compete in next season's Intertoto Cup, which is kind of the NIT of the European soccer world.  However, Inverness are withdrawing their application for the tourney.  Why?  Because of Elton Fuckin John, that's why.

The singer will play a concert at the club's Caledonian Stadium on 15 July, a date that clashes with the second round of the tournament.

And director of football Graeme Bennett said: "We're withdrawing our interest in the Intertoto Cup. "The cup dates clash with an Elton John concert at the stadium, which would've been a big issue."

Whoa.  That must mean Elton John fans would have been sufficiently upset about the possible concert cancellation to put together some kind of protest.  I had no idea gay people were capable of actual protests.  I thought they just hid in Manhattan and San Francisco, where they occasionally march in parades.  Ya learn something new every day.

For those of you still undecided about whom to root for in the Super Bowl, you can now factor Tony Dungy's homophobia into the equation. Yes, as has been noted elsewhere, Dungy will be honored at a benefit hosted by the Indiana Family Institute, which is on the record for hating the "expanding homosexual agenda" in Indiana.

This story carries the stink politics, so I'm going to withhold my opinion. Besides, I'm adamantly opposed to judging anyone on this site. That would be wrong. But I can't help but feel that Dungy REALLY doesn't like the look that Brian Urlacher gives Peyton Manning in this old MasterCard video that MJD found.

(p.s. Is there another dork in the NFL who could pull off the "hand clap with double finger-point" more believably than Peyton? I say no.)
