Yesterday while everyone was going wild over Beyoncé's SI cover, I chose — wisely, I believe — to focus on Marisa Miller instead. But what of the other swimsuit models, particularly the stellar rookie class? Do they not also deserve a post? Well, of course they do.

I've spent a couple hours today researching SI's Swimsuit 2007, and when I saw the 400th picture of a model with a guitar, I finally figured out that it was a music-themed issue, which explains Beyoncé. And the photo shoots in Nashville and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And the model + musician photos. And the band tee shirt body paint. Basically, I'm not exactly Philip Marlowe when models are present.

So, just for fun, here are some more pics. I won't go so far as to call the selected photos "editor's picks," although Bar Refaeli [#2] and Irina [#6] share Rookie of the Year honors, with Tori Praver [#4] getting a nod for Best Playlist. Because trying to find the hottest picture over there is like scooping up freshly fallen snow and saying, "Which snowflake is prettier? This one, or this one?" …and then masturbating with the snow.

Most red-blooded patriotic American males loved sports before they loved women, so their parents got them a Sports Illustrated subscription. And every February since the dawn of time, SI has taught pubescent men that there's something much more important than sports, and that thing is sexy, sexy women. Bravo, SI. The release of your voluminous online gallery is the only good thing about this rotten day.
