Kobe Is Sorry That You Heard Him Call The Ref A ‘F-cking F-ggot’

Written by JOSH Z / 04.13.11

UPDATE: Kobe was just fined $100k for the remark. That’s a lotta dimp.

Not even Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant can get away with uttering pejoratives in games, even if he’s on the bench and even if he’s not wired for sound. Bryant already has apologized for calling referee Bennie Adams the frickin’ friggot remark explained in the headline, which may or may not save him for getting suspended in the first round of the playoffs.

“What I said (Tuesday) night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone,” Bryant said in a statement released Wednesday by the Lakers.

I’m sure what Kobe meant to say was:

“My words were not meant to offend anyone except that f#cking f#ggot Bennie Adams who called a bullsh#t technical foul on me. Doesn’t he know who I am? I’m Kobe Muthaf#ckin Bryant, and I’ll f#ck that muthaf#cka so far up his #ss that he’ll know just what I’m talkin’ about.”

Even the gay rights groups would look at that and say, “Yes, I really sense his frustration there.”

Early story lines revolved around the controversial decision by Flyers coach Peter Laviolette to bench prized rookie James van Riemsdyk in favor of the, well, angrier Danny Carcillo. A healthy scratch for the last three games, Carcillo was activated so he could do what he does best, which is run into stuff at high velocities. And boy did ever. Alas, his most notable victim wasn’t a Blackhawk playmaker but teammate Jeff Carter.

As a botched head hunting expedition midway throught the first period intended for Tomas Kopecky went awry, Carcillo plowed full bore into a helpless Carter for a bone crushing gore of the worst variety. Unfortunately for the Flyers, Carcillo decided that if he couldn’t put down a Blackhawk on the ice as he intended, he might as well pull out his bag of wits and engage in some old fashioned verbal bench to bench sparring with Blackhawk Adam Burish. After Burish cracked that the incident was Carcillo’s “First big hit of the year,” NBC cameras caught Carcillo shooting back a garbled stream of brainless f-bombs that had Flyers fans shaking their heads in disgust.
