Doug Anderson Wins All The Dunk Contests

Written by Ashley Burns / 04.05.13

You know how LeBron James is always playing that worn out routine of “Maybe I should be in the Slam Dunk Contest this year…” and us basketball fans are like, “Please, oh, please LeBron, would ya do that, King? Would ya?” and he’s like, “Wellllllllllllll maybe if someone paid me a million dollars…” and then you and I pull out our pockets and fight over who gets to eat this packet of ketchup? Well, we don’t need LeBron anymore, because we’ve got –

Doug Anderson.

Who?

WHO?

WHO???

WHAT???

Your State Farm College Slam Dunk Champion is what. The University of Detroit senior forward shocked and AWWWWWWW YEAH’d his way on to some scout lists with one ridiculously sick reverse 360 dunk last night in Atlanta.

Don’t Worry, The Future Of The NBA Is Modest

Written by Ashley Burns / 12.27.11

Justise Winslow is currently only a sophomore at St. John’s School in Houston, but he’s had some significant buzz around his basketball skills since his first games as a freshman. While I wish it was because his father’s name is Carl, it’s actually because he’s a man among boys. At 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, saying he’s matured faster than his peers would be an understatement. It would be like saying that Eddy Curry is just a faster eater.

But Winslow’s size has obviously allowed him to become a much better basketball player than most high schoolers so he’s already advancing in arrogance and pomposity as well. For instance, Winslow and St. John’s played against Antonian Prep in the St. Thomas Tournament recently and he showed everyone why he is probably the top prep school player in the country, as he dunked all over his terribly mismatched opponent.

Then he showed why he’s a complete dipsh*t by getting ejected for two technicals in five seconds. Basketball never stops and neither does acting like a dumbass at the expense of your team.

DERRICK ROSE HAS UPS

Written by Amber Jones / 01.23.10

Chicago Bull Derrick Rose high above the rim with a sweet dunk, leaving the Suns stunned by a 115-104 loss.  But better yet, Rose was dunking for dollars.  For each point he personally scored he donated $1,000 to Haiti relief–a country, as you’ve heard, has now suffered a major earthquake with two huge aftershocks leaving them completely devastated and death tolls are climbing.

He is one of a long list of ballers to step up to the cause, including Dwayne Wade, Alonzo Mourning, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and Gilbert Arenas, Pau Gasol, Joe Johnson, and Tyreke Evans.  Mourning and Wade have started a fund called “Athletes Relief Fund for Haiti”.  Other organizations providing relief can be found here.–vid via The Sporting Blog
