LINDSEY VONN IS AN ATHLETE

With the Winter Olympics only three days away, it’s hard to argue that any member of Team USA can expect to have as good a month as skier Lindsey Vonn already has. Vonn made the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s Olympic preview, and is one of the four Olympians featured in that magazine’s swimsuit issue. I don’t know exactly how much swimming she expects to accomplish in Vancouver, but that’s none of my concern. Vonn’s already off to an impressive run this February, and her month is only expected to get better. Lindsey’s gallery at SI.com.

PEACE. LOVE. BROOKLYN.

Brooklyn Decker is only 22, so it’s easy to forget that she now has been doing this supermodel thing for five years running. But the southwestern Ohio native, who appeared in last year’s SI swimsuit issue wearing only body paint, had never notched the elusive cover of that annual, until now.

SI keeps the cover photo a secret — even from the models — until less than 24 hours before it’s revealed. Decker said now the mad dash was on to find outfits for TV appearances that will come with the gig. –via Huffpo.

Brooklyn, of course, is the wife of tennis player Andy Roddick, so it’s amazing that she didn’t simply advance to the cover shot finals and then choke it away. We’ll have more from the SI issue throughout the day, as we (finally) return to a full day of posting. Stick around.

THE BEST OF THE REST OF THE SWIMSUITS

Written by JOSH Z / 02.11.09

The highlights that we missed from yesterday’s SI’s swimsuit issue release? Well, you could fry an egg on Esti Ginzberg‘s ass, Jessica Gomes has invisible nipples, Cintia Dicker is still searching for a dickee, and Anne V is so damn illegal-looking that I’d feel safer beating off to Anne IV or Anne III.

SUPER BOWL ‘SI’ SWIMSUIT PARTY PREVIEW

Written by Matt / 01.30.07

Over the coming days, you'll see more and more posts about Super Bowl-related events and whatnot as I try to figure out a haphazard itinerary while I'm in Miami. Naturally, I was slightly repulsed by the idea of Venus and Serena Williams throwing a party. Then I was un-repulsed when I realized they were going to have SI swimsuit models in the house:

Sports Illustrated will take over The Fifth in South Beach for its Club SI party presented by Cadillac on Saturday night. The party's hosted by Venus and Serena Williams; Wyclef Jean will perform. But who cares about that when there will be SI swimsuit models in attendance? They're dropping in for the world premiere of Jimmy Buffet's SI swimsuit video, Getting the Picture, which debuts in conjunction with the 2007 Swimsuit Issue.

Oh man, did it have to be on Saturday? Did they really feel it was necessary to compete with the Penthouse party? Because SI swimsuit models versus Penthouse Pets… that's two sides of the same sexy, sexy coin. How is a man supposed to choose? On one hand, the swimsuit issue represents that first realization of pubescent sexuality, tantalizing sex symbols who never quite show it all. On the other hand, you have former strippers who became nude models on their way to becoming porn stars. It's actually not an easy decision.

Of course, this is a strictly theoretical discussion. I'm going to the one party I'm invited to. Hooray, porn stars!
