The NRA Thinks You Should Probably Kill Doug Flutie

A threat to our national security.

Gun control debates are at an all-time high. Some people think we should regulate guns to keep bullets from flying out of them and murdering people. Others think guns are our constitutional right, the last thing standing between us and Barack Obama sending drones shaped like British soldiers to our doors to forcibly remove our freedom. Others still wish social media didn’t exist so they wouldn’t have to hear what every person they have ever met thinks should be done about guns.

Back in September, the NRA-ILA — the National Rifle Association’s “lobbying arm,” the Institute for Legislative Action — published a fact sheet alerting gun owners to persons and organizations with an anti-gun stance. Now, this isn’t the most up-to-the-minute breaking news thing I’ve ever shared, but as a person who does not have a Google alert set up for PEOPLE WHO PUBLISH LISTS OF THEIR ENEMIES ON THE INTERNET, I was surprised at some of the names.

Here, I’ll let them explain what this is.

The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI “Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws.” Many of these organizations were listed as “Campaign Partners,” for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton “assault weapons” ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

Included on the list: harmless-as-humanly-possible Doug Flutie, former NBA star Rick Fox, MLB journeyman common Mike Torrez, Vinny By God Testaverde and tennis great John McEnroe. The NRA felt it was important for you to know that DOUG FLUTIE thought gun-control was a possibility, so that you could stop loving him. Or whatever. I’m not sure what the actual purpose of the list is. It has BOYZ II MEN on it. Did somebody weigh the importance of their guns against how much they liked ‘On Bended Knee’?

You can check out the entire list here.

Wild Card Wednesday: Kate Upton Took A Tour Of The New Madison Square Garden

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.30.11

I probably have a few million first world complaints that I keep to myself for the sake of not being struck by lightning, but if I had to throw one out there, I’d say that Kate Upton doesn’t Tweet enough fun pictures of her and her friends. And no, it’s not because I like to sit in a dark room and photoshop myself into those pictures, despite what any court documentation might say. But when Kate does Tweet pics of her random adventures, it proves one of my oldest theories – life must be good for a gorgeous 19-year old supermodel.

Kate, a huge New York sports fan, recently toured the newest additions to Madison Square Garden and I’m sure it was the greatest thrill of her life. Must have been a million times better than those lame ass trips to Caribbean islands and sitting front row at anything on this planet that has a front row. But she Tweeted the pic of her and her friend Lizzy Glynn having fun so who am I to complain?

Oh, and if you weren’t aware, Kate was also photographed for Diddy’s new coffee table book about the female posterior, fittingly titled, “Culo.” I happen to have her contribution after the jump, as well as this week’s Wild Card Wednesday. Join me, won’t you?

RICK FOX IS HAVING SEX IN THE CITY

Written by Matt / 02.14.07

So, I guess former Laker Rick Fox and formerly relevant Kristin Davis are an item now

The new couple was spotted dining at Madeo in Beverly Hills, where they "shared bites of each other's pasta along with a few kisses," a source told In Touch.

Fox, a former L.A. Laker, has one child with his ex-wife, "Ugly Betty" star Vanessa Williams.

A pal of the actor's privately confirmed that the two are dating.

Pardon me if I dismiss this with a wanking motion. Goddam that's boring. There's no chance I'd ever put my hands on any of the Sex and the City women, unless it was to strangle them for taking part in the single most repugnant television show ever made. Everyone responsible for that show — from the creator and producer down to people who played extras — should be set on fire.

I'm not particularly enamored with Rick Fox, either, but I used up all my hate on SATC, so he gets a pass. This time.
