Fewer things were easier to make fun of during the NCAA Tournament than Kentucky Wildcats center Anthony Davis and his incredible unibrow. But while it may seem mean to pick on a kid and his extra misplaced facial hair, it’s important to remember that in just over a month he’ll be a millionaire, as if he wasn’t already better than the people making fun of him. For instance, I suck at basketball but do not have a unibrow, and that does not make us even.

Comedian Joe Mande, though, is not done pointing out the hilarity of Davis’ unibrow, as he recently whipped up some photoshops of the next Tim Duncan as Frida Kahlo paintings. If you’re unfamiliar, Kahlo is the artist who was portrayed by Salma Hayek in the film Frida.

Aw, at least your beard is neatly trimmed.

Yesterday, I examined the slump of Albert Pujols and his inability to hit a home run so far this season, as he and his Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are settling themselves into quite the hole. The Halos lost their 4th consecutive game yesterday – the Tampa Bay Rays won 4-3 thanks to a walk-off bomb from Brandon Allen – and are now 9 games back of the first place Texas Rangers. Not looking good for Mike Scioscia and company.

But the good news is that Pujols was 1-for-4 yesterday, ending his hitless streak at 21 at-bats. Still, he has no home runs this season and he has tied his longest power outage at 26 games. The man who just inked a 10-year, $240 million deal – with another decade or so of front office work tacked on – now hasn’t hit a dinger in 105 regular season at-bats. Apparently people are ignoring his Mr. October night against the Texas Rangers in the World Series, but who remembers when he was a St. Louis Cardinal anyway?

Thankfully, the Internet is awesome and someone made my favorite photoshop of the week as a tribute to Pujols. Seriously, I heart this so much.

With 6 million or so sports blogs to choose from, we all have to get a little creative now and then to keep the ladies readers pleased and coming back for more, so it doesn’t ever surprise me when another site uses a misleading headline to get a few more clicks. Hell, I do it plenty, but I also trust that enough people know not to take it too seriously, because we’re closer to the Onion than we are ESPN. And even when I get something wrong – a stupid little stat or a misspelled name or misconstrued legal jargon – I still take the time to fix or clarify it.

With that mini-rant out of the way, if someone emailed me a photo of Miami Heat stars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James wearing t-shirts that depict Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, especially in the wake of Ozzie Guillen’s admission of love, I’d probably take a few minutes to check and see if it’s real. Unfortunately, one blogger, who professes to be the “world’s most popular”, which I assume is recognized in the same category as World’s Best Kisser and No. 1 Dad, doesn’t share that philosophy and ran the above image yesterday without bothering to check if it was real, leading to some mighty fine racism in his comments section.

I make no secret that I dislike Wade and James for their perceived arrogance, but this photo jumped out at me because I immediately remembered it from an event that we featured back in September – Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play, featuring Michelle Obama, Chris Paul, Wade and James. And no, Wade and James were not wearing Castro shirts.

While there’s nothing better than someone becoming aware of their own meme and embracing it, I’m sad to say that I am the bearer of bad news today. The above image popped up on Imgur, Memebase and a few other sites yesterday and most people were all like, “Oh snap, Yao Ming has embraced his trollface meme.” I only wish that were the case. Using my keen CSI investigating, it’s pretty easy to tell that it’s just a photoshop, much to the disappointment of every website’s commenters asking, “LOL IZ THIS REELZ?”

It’s even easier if you also know that the photoshop is one of several created by Le Rage Shirts. Trust me, I wanted this to be real, too.

As with most memes, the Yao Ming trollface – or “Bitch Please” or “F*CK IT” – debuted on Reddit a year or so ago after a rather amusing postgame interview featuring Yao and Metta World Peace, then known as Ron Artest. This trip down memory lane has been brought to you by Yao Ming with a panda bear, still the most adorable picture we’ve ever posted.
