Arianny Celeste’s FHM Philippines Shoot, Because Why Not?

One school of thought says that if a woman (specifically a woman who is sexy for a living) poses nude, she can never go back in time and do cheesecake bikini shoots because the mystery is gone, and if you wanted to see her naked you’d just google her naked. Another says that a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman, and that if she’s tangentially sports-related and looks this great in regressive stages of bikini, you should celebrate it.

Allow us to celebrate it.

Arianny Celeste, Octagon girl and “noticeably hot lady in the background of most UFC weigh-in photos”, appears in various stages of undress for the May 2012 issue of FHM Philippines, and unless you’ve got a subscription or are gonna fly to the Philippines and pick up a copy you can just look at them here. Not Buying Magazines is what the prime directive of the Internet, isn’t it?

France Has Surrendered To The Homeless

08.23.11 Written by Burnsy

More than 500 bums, hobos, transients, tramps, and the “socially marginalized” from 48 countries have gathered in Paris, France for the 9th annual Homeless Cup games. Yes, it is exactly what you think – homeless people playing soccer. However, these aren’t the meth-addled, schizophrenic dumpster-divers that you and I have grown to loathe and avoid eye contact with. These are down-on-their-luck men and women with a collective goal of ending global homelessness. You know, low aspirations.

I have to admit, when I first read about this yesterday while eating diamond-encrusted lobster and wiping my mouth with hundred dollar bills, I pictured a more barbaric, Thunderdome-esque competition, with discarded food being thrown into the arena to encourage violence. But it’s actually a pretty nice looking event.

In fact, it reminds me of a similar idea that I had last year. *cue wavy dream flashback sequence*

Why Is Everybody So Obsessed With Pillow Fighting Records?

07.06.11 Written by Burnsy

For far too long the Philippines have languished in a void of cultural irrelevance, known primarily for their women becoming nurses or mail order brides. But that’s all about to change, as the country’s protagonists of enrichment are going to put themselves on the map for something truly important – pillow fighting.

The owners of the Hotel Sogo, which boasts 20 locations throughout the Philippines, are urging their fellow countrymen to join them as “United Pillow Fighters”, which can bring in a completely different crowd if written poorly, as part of Pillow Fight Manila 2001 and an attempt at breaking the world pillow fighting record.

“We will call on our kababayans (fellowmen) to help us break the world record for the largest number of people participating in a pillow fight,” Gus Corpus, Hotel Sogo’s chief operating officer, said in a statement.

Hotel Sogo said a wave of pillow fights will run in colleges and universities starting this month to encourage people ages 16 and above to register as “United Pillow Fighters.”

Among these schools are the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where over 100 students took part in a pillow fight last Friday, July 1. (Via ABS-CBN News)

The current record is held by a group in England that gathered 3,706 participants in 2008 to benefit the BBC’s Children in Need event. Corpus wants at least 5,000 Filipinos to join him at his event, which doesn’t have an official venue or date yet, but who cares about silly little details like that?

Pacquiao is Paris Hilton’s New BFF

05.09.11 Written by Brandon

Paris Hilton and Manny Pacquiao

In a blog post that would’ve gotten tons of traffic maybe six years ago, Manny Pacquiao celebrated his decision-by-way-of-inevitability victory over Sugar Shane Mosley by hanging out with socialite turned porn star turned pop culture icon turned something turned nobody Paris Hilton. I’m guessing he punched her in the face, which is why her eyeball is doing that thing.

Paris tweeted: “Hanging out with @MannyPacquiao and his beautiful wife Jinkee. They are such a sweet & down to earth couple! Love them! :)”

Jinkee also had her picture taken with the American celebrity. Paris reportedly had a hard time leaving the media room as Filipino fans mobbed her.

THIS IS HOW TO NOT GET DUNKED ON

07.24.09 Written by JOSH Z

Here’s video of Kobe Bryant playing one-on-one in the Philippines (one L, two Ps) at one of his basketball camps, which is weird, because I always remembered basketball camp as a place where you played basketball, instead of watching someone else do it.

But anyway, Bryant pulls a kid out of the stands for a game of one-on-one, and this might be the greatest defense Kobe’s ever played in his life. You get a little perspective for how internationally renown NBA stars can be, whereas we just routinely dump on them without hesitation or restraint. But enjoying a neverending parade of sports icons is part of being American. Well, that and taking it for granted. via, via.
