The Fightins bring us this video of a guy that fully extends for a foul ball with his left arm while keeping his offspring tucked under in his right. Not bad, sir. Seriously, if you catch a foul ball at a game, don’t ever give it to a kid, because (a) he might spaz out and throw the ball back onto the field. And then no one has a ball, and (b) because he has the rest of his life to catch one. Oh, you want to be nice to a kid? Why don’t you set up a 529 for him, then. God, I hate the Phillies. via The Fightins (Thanks, Sharebros Mike, Chris and Trey).
DC Shoes put together this crazy ad involving an indoor skate park and a basketball goal. I can only assume that somebody thought it was a giant bong and brought it in to smoke it. Because all skaters are druggies, see. It’s an impressive display of trickshottery from a group of dudes that most people don’t really consider to be athletes. Now if we can only get these guys to start going to class again.
Ever wonder how much better a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie would be without Jean-Claude Van Damme? Generally more awesome, and significantly shorter. And without all the forced ESL dialogue. In otherwords, a lot like this video of a street fight in some undisclosed location some bag-assed movie called Never Back Down that I’ve never seen before. Whoops. I guess you guys don’t want to see my totally-real interview with some journalist from Kazakhstan now…
I’m sure that when they started UFC that they wanted every fight to look like this. Now I know why Terrence Howard took the white guy in that one movie.
This is Billy trying to…actually, I have no idea what he’s trying to do. And here’s a good example of over-editing something. You got a solid faceplant here; you don’t need to replay it five times in three seconds. Let the story tell itself. Anyway, Billy’s face was busted up pretty well, as you can see. There’s a longer video here, and no it’s not sports-related in the least. Guess who doesn’t care.
Jeremy Tyler (another video here) must have been too busy ballin’ to catch any of those Stay In School ads, because he’s skipping his senior year of high school to play ball in Europe. Y! Sports reports that Tyler and his father are assembling a management team and fielding offers from teams in Spain, Italy, and Israel.
Good for him. If he can see another part of the world at his age and concentrate on the one thing that will actually pay his bills for the rest of his life, why shouldn’t he? Everyone’s all, “No, he should stay in school and get his education.” Because basketball players are infinitely more educated after spending one semester in college. Hey, if you clowns want to see college athletes getting paid, we’ll need about 10 or 15 more of these guys to jump across the pond. It won’t happen just from your groused, plebian idealism, no matter how many times you call into Tirico and Van Pelt.

People are saying that Chad Johnson is a jerk for his actions towards a local TV reporter in this video. But that's just typical media bias and racism. Chad signs autographs for his fans throughout most of the video, then he's even polite enough to ask the reporter how he's doing. How was his offseason? How is his ankle? When was the last time you saw a star athlete show such interest and concern for a member of the media? The only problem with Chad Johnson is that his heart may be a little TOO big.
