At Least The Cincinnati Bearcats Baseball Team Was Having Fun

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.23.13

I guess when your baseball team finishes a season with an overall record of 24-32 and an even worse conference showing at 6-18, you need to find other things to be happy about. Fortunately, while the school’s basketball fans were off Harlem Shaking, the University of Cincinnati Bearcats baseball players were keeping their fans entertained by videobombing their teammates during postgame interviews.

Thanks to the wonderful folks at Imgur, some of, if not all of, the Bearcats’ best moments were captured in GIF (pronounced JIF) format for our enjoyment. And kudos to the Bearcats for not only finishing out the season with an 11-5 win over Notre Dame, but also for producing a series of GIFs that have made them the most talked about team during the current NCAA baseball conference tournaments.

Seriously, I don’t know anything about college baseball right now other than the Bearcats are fun, and I’m fine with that.

With Leather’s Watch This: Jon Gruden Has All The QB Answers For Us

Written by Ashley Burns / 04.11.13

With just two weeks left until the 2013 NFL Draft begins, we’re in desperate need of a talking head who can tell us all about what a quarterback needs to succeed in professional football. But it can’t just be any person with a mouth and pulse, it has to be someone who possesses that uncanny ability to talk to us like we’re complete morons. And for good measure, let’s make sure that person has a knack for starting every description of a man with “This guy right here…”

Haha, just kidding! We have Jon Gruden, the one-time Hooters cook who collects big ass paychecks to interrogate college QBs entering the NFL Draft about their skills and mental toughness in a way that makes us, the viewers, feel like we’re watching The Muppets. I, for one, am glad to have Gruden’s QB Camp in our lives, today at 5 PM ET on ESPNU and 7 and 7:30 PM ET on ESPN 2 just in case you’re running through a really long airport or train station and miss the first two.

Also, it’s the only show on TV that gives us faces like this…

Caption This Picture

The Arizona Wildcats defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 4-1 last night to complete a sweep and win the program’s fourth NCAA baseball title in school history. Coach Andy Lopez and the Wildcats put on a hell of a show to win his second College World Series in 20 years; in fact, this one comes on the 20th anniversary of his first, when he was the unknown coach of the even more unknown Pepperdine Wave.

But enough about all that awesome, inspirational baseball stuff, there were also morons in Omaha last night. Seven morons, to be precise, and I could even go as far as to call them knuckleheads. That’s the kind of foul mood these no-gooders have put me in. At one point during the game, these Douche-Bagnificent 7 (trademark pending) rushed the field and caused a delay in the game as security had to wrangle them up.

As you can see above, one ambitious girl even got herself a handful of some Wildcat ass. And knowing baseball players as well as I do, I can only hope that he farted on her hand. That would have been the mature thing to do.

ESPN’s Jenn Brown: The Pete Incaviglia Of Sideline Reporters

Written by Brandon Stroud / 06.25.12

Jenn Brown ESPN Batting PracticeESPN sideline reporter Jenn Brown took batting practice with the South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team at the College World Series recently, and if you’ve never seen the former Florida Gators softball player take a cut, it’s a thing of beauty. Lost Letterman compares her to Ichiro. Not sure I’d go that far, but it’s close. At the very least she looks a lot better swinging a bat than Rachel Nichols would.

She even gives switch-hitting a try, but just like me, she’s better from the left than the right. Unlike me, she hits most of the balls thrown her way, and she never does that thing where she pretends like her wrists are hurting and that’s why she’s not doing well.

If that’s not enough to make you watch the video, here’s the hard sell from South Carolina coach Ray Tanner:

“She’s got a really nice swing; really nice swing. Technique, fluid, and she’s got better wheels than anyone we’ve got,” Tanner said. “She’s a step faster than Tanner English. She’s got nice wheels. Have you ever seen her run?”

Video is after the jump.
