Yesterday, we had a video of the new Tecmo Bowl coming out for PS3 and Xbox 360, but today, it’s a preview video of the new NBA Jam. Maybe tomorrow we’ll have “Strip Tetris” or something. Either way, the video peek of the new game, due out this fall, doesn’t look too shabby. Electronic Arts obviously has the licensing of the players and teams worked out, as one can see after watching Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan shove each other across the floor.

The guy that posted this video even went as far as making power rankings for each potential team, with the Cavs, Hawks and Nuggets leading the pack. Whatever. Just give me the cheat code so I can unlock Tom Gugliotta. Read the rest of this entry »

THEY’RE BRINGING BACK NBA JAM

Written by JOSH Z / 01.12.10

Electronic Arts has officially announced plans to revive the popular arcade game originally released by Midway in 1993. “NBA Jam” will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii later this year. Which is great news if you like seeing basketballs or basketball players engulfed in flames.

Featuring gameplay that is true to the original, NBA JAM will have players spinning with ankle breaking moves to the basket and on the way to high-flying, backboard-smashing dunks. In addition to the classic experience, EA SPORTS NBA JAM will also introduce new game modes, characters and gameplay depth.

I’m kinda bent that this game is only being released on Wii. It’s bad enough that I have to shower standing up…now I have to relive my childhood memories the same way? This will be the first “Jam” since Akklaim released a three-on-three version in 2003 (pictured). Six players? Who can keep track of all that?
