Reality Show Pilot for Cheerleading Playmate? Yes, Please

Written by Ryan Walsh / 02.11.11

There are few things in the world I love more than college football and the accompanying hottie cheerleaders. Unfortunately for me, I made the unfortunate decision of going to school in the Big East, where the only thing that looks worse than the cheerleaders is Greg Paulus under throwing receivers while wearing uncomfortably tight football pants.

I say this only because college football makes me miss my home in the South, where the football and cheerleaders are almost equally entertaining, but for completely different reasons. Case in point, the above pictured Taylor Corley. Taylor, a freshman at Mississippi State, is a now former member of the school’s cheerleading team, who posed for Playboy this past November. Now, it appears that Corley is setting her college education aside to pursue a career in reality television.

Corley on her future with Playboy:

I’ve been in contact with Playboy, I actually was on the Playboy Morning Show on Playboy Radio this (Wednesday) morning! I’m also in the running for Model of the Year 2011!

Corley, who is from Atlanta, on the reality show pilot for which she’s been cast:

I am about to start a new reality TV series called Girl Swagg, it’s a pilot for MTV/VH1 and I’m very excited to move forward with that. This has been planned for a few months now though. I do not have any representation yet, as of right now my mom is just helping me with everything! –Sports by Brooks

TCU Billboards Pop Up In Columbus

Written by Ashley Burns / 01.07.11

Back in November, Ohio State President Gordon Gee told the Associated Press that teams like TCU and Boise State didn’t deserve to play for the BCS title because those programs don’t have strong schedules like the teams in the BCS automatic qualifier conferences. Said Gee:

“Well, I don’t know enough about the X’s and O’s of college football,” said Gee, formerly the president at West Virginia, Colorado, Brown and Vanderbilt universities. “I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it’s like murderer’s row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day. So I think until a university runs through that gantlet that there’s some reason to believe that they not be the best teams to [be] in the big ballgame.”

Boise State lost to Nevada two days later, ruining the Broncos’ BCS hopes, but TCU continued to steamroll opponents, as the No. 3 Horned Frogs finished with a 12-0 regular season record. The Frogs added their exclamation point on New Year’s Day, when they defeated Wisconsin 21-19 in the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin, of course, finished 7-1 in the Big 10 just like Ohio State. So for Gee’s comments, a mysterious TCU supporter has gently extended his middle finger by posting the banner image above on 20 electronic billboards throughout Columbus, Ohio. Well done.

While we can chalk this one up as a W for the little guys, as TCU was the first ever non-automatic qualifier to win the Rose Bowl, Gee and the rest of the big boys are probably still scoffing at the Frogs while they refill their high balls and light cigars with $100 bills. But tread lightly, big conference presidents. TCU will be in the Big East soon enough, so if you thought the Frogs had an easy road now, just you wait.

In the meantime, I was a little surprised to find out that TCU wasn’t the only school to have mystery billboards popping up around the country. Follow along after the jump…

Cam Newton Wanted To Get Paid*

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.05.10

Newtons

*Allegedly

Former Mississippi State player and servant to the Queen of England, John Bond, has made allegations that Auburn University quarterback and Heisman Trophy frontrunner Cam “Isaac” Newton expressed interest in transferring to MSU from junior college last year, but Newton was expecting $180,000 for his services, according to another former MSU football player. That may seem excessive, seeing as he only wanted a laptop while playing for the University of Florida, but hey, a guy’s gotta make some cheddar, right?

ESPN.com reported that the former player who was soliciting money on behalf of Newton was Kenny Rogers, who apparently also has some bad blood with the NCAA and the NFL Players Association. Rogers allegedly acts as an agent for college players like Newton, who was looking to transfer back to a D-I school after spending time at a junior college in the wake of his ejection from Florida. Through his Elite Football Preparation agency, Rogers reportedly tried to sell Newton as a collegiate free agent to various schools, with some willing to pay as much as $200,000. However, MSU could only shake $180,000 out of the couch cushions, and Cam was allegedly cool with that because he was close with MSU coach Dan Mullen from their brief time together at Florida. He’s the quarterback hooker with the heart of gold.

Do we expect you to die, Mr. Bond? No, we expect you to talk:
