I'm a little bit late to the party on this one, but I need to weigh in on this because I have long lobbied for Mike Patrick to be taken around back and shot.  I cheered when ESPN blew up that Axis crew of him and Joe Theismann (and Mike Tirico, who was the Italy to Theismann's Germany and Patrick's Japan).  Unfortunately, ESPN didn't shoot Patrick, but instead relegated him to college football games, where I'm sure Georgia and Alabama fans appreciate him — completely out of nowhere — bringing up Britney Spears during a tense overtime battle between SEC rivals.

(Note to ESPN: it would be easy.  C'monnnnn, do it.  BLAM!  No one would miss him.)

This may be the least idiotic thing Mike Patrick has ever said.  It may even be on par with John Madden's Thanksgiving telecast when he said he couldn't wait to get home to his wife to stuff the bird.  Unless it was in the cranberry bog, if you know what I'm talkin' about.  And I think you do.
