Would You Like To See The Gaping Hole In Mark Hunt’s Leg? Of Course You Would

Mark Hunt Leg Ewwww

Good morning. Did you have a nice breakfast? I did. I had some blueberry waffles and two eggs. It was delicious. And now I think I’m going to go lose it everywhere, thanks to my favorite 39-year old UFC heavyweight, Mark Hunt. It turns out that Hunt suffered, among other things, an infected hematoma in his left leg during his incredible loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 160.

So Hunt spent the weekend in the hospital having surgery, and like any good UFC fighter who isn’t as grossed out by things like some of us normal folks – *points to self, dry heaves* – he Tweeted several pictures and one very, very graphic video of a gigantic hole in the side of his leg.

TJ Grant Won Knockout Of The Night At UFC 160 Thanks To Mike Tyson

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.27.13

When Broadway star and pigeon hero Mike Tyson showed up on camera at Saturday night’s UFC 160 PPV, some people wondered why the heck the former boxing champ was there, while most of us just assumed that it was because he wanders around Las Vegas during his downtime and sometimes happens to stumble into major venues. But he was actually there to hang with his bro and UFC legend Chuck Liddell, whose protégé Glover Teixeira won his fourth straight fight since joining the UFC with a guillotine choke submission of James Te Huna.

Little did we know that Tyson would end up playing a major role in some decision-making that night, as he helped TJ Grant earn an extra $50,000 for the Knockout of the Night prize. Grant scored a first round TKO over Gray Maynard by simply overwhelming him from the get-go, but Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta were convinced that Junior dos Santos deserved the extra cash for his third round KO of Mark Hunt.

That’s when Tyson stepped in and said, “Thith is ludicrouth.”

UFC 160 Results: More Like Little Foot

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.26.13

In case you were unable to join us last night for our UFC 160 Live Discussion, which Mike Tyson referred to as the most legible UFC live discussion on the Internet, you missed perhaps one of the more exciting PPV events in recent memory, and we owe it all to some fired up heavyweights. We hoped and prayed to the gods of punching and kicking that Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, hot off of his unexpected knockout of Alistair Overeem, would be better prepared for this rematch and championship title shot against Cain Velasquez than he was last time these two faced off, in a non-title match when Velasquez turned Bigfoot into a bloody mess.

Alas, we don’t always get what we want. Velasquez once again handled Silva in the first round, just without all of the gore this time. Velasquez remains the UFC Heavyweight Champion, and for the third time in his last five fights, the champ will presumably face the No. 1 contender and former champ Junior dos Santos, who was also victorious in a much more exciting fight.

Stefan Struve Reminded Us At UFC On FUEL 8 Why Getting Punched In The Face Sucks

Written by Ashley Burns / 03.04.13

Stefan Struve celebrated his 25th birthday on Friday, one day before what was supposed to be his biggest win for his young UFC Heavyweight career. And he knew his matchup with Mark Hunt was going to be a big one, because a win would put him one step closer to a championship fight. In fact, Struve even said this prior to his co-main event match on UFC on FUEL TV 8 in Japan:

“It’s going to be another step to the belt, in my opinion,” Struve said in explaining the benefits of topping Hunt this weekend. “With five wins in a row, I think I have a good bid for being one of the top contenders in the division. Perhaps I’ll earn a title shot at the end of the year.”

That would have been awesome, considering his young age and unique size at 7-feet tall, because the Heavyweight division could certainly use some new blood and personality. That would have been awesome. Would have.

Unfortunately, Struve’s grand scheme hit a minor snag in the form of a left hook from Hunt that looked like this…
