Brittney Palmer And Arianny Celeste… Shut Up And Just Watch This Video

Written by Ashley Burns / 02.22.13

It has been an incredible year for the Turbo Rocket.

The UFC is taking a huge step forward with tomorrow’s UFC 157 PPV event, as it will obviously mark the first time in the company’s history that women will fight. And not only will they fight, but two women are actually headlining this huge PPV, as first-ever UFC Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will face Liz Carmouche. Naturally, we’re going to get to how momentous of an occasion this is later today with the primer for our live discussion tomorrow night, so in the meantime we’re going to address our other favorite UFC women – Brittney Palmer and Arianny Celeste.

Palmer, the reigning Ring Girl of the Year, and Celeste, the Ring Girl of the Year every year before Palmer, are launching their own product line, which is what that meet and greet thing is about, and because there is a God, it’s a lingerie line. And because God loves me so much, Palmer and Celeste made a video to promote their new lingerie line, and if you’ll excuse me I’ll be in this bathtub full of ice water for the next week or so.

Life Has Turned Out OK For Zahia Dehar

Written by Ashley Burns / 01.26.12

There’s a pretty strong chance that you have no clue who Zahia Dehar is, unless you’re a huge fan of French soccer. But to fill you in and make all of you kids hip to the scene, Dehar is a 19-year old fashion designer who debuted her brand new lingerie line to rave reviews yesterday during Couture Fashion Week at the Palais Brongniart in Paris. Her achievement is remarkable in itself because of her age and the fact that she has only been modeling for the past year or so, but it’s most remarkable because of her first career as an underage prostitute.

So where does the French soccer correlation come in? In 2010, Dehar admitted to French officials that she had been paid for sex on multiple occasions by at least three prominent French soccer players. As the scandal became national news, it was revealed that the three players were Franck Ribéry, Karim Benzema and Sidney Govou. French officials swore that any players involved with Dehar and this huge prostitution ring would be ineligible to play for the French National Team. Fortunately, Ribéry wasn’t investigated until after the 2010 FIFA World Cup, so he was able to play. Only after the tournament was he indicted for soliciting an underage prostitute.

Ribéry’s career since the indictment has been riddled with injuries, as he never quite developed into his one-time status as France’s next big star. But Dehar is doing just fine, and since I feel like we don’t ever have enough fashion on this site, I thought we’d take a little look at what she’s been up to this week.

Lingerie Football Youth League: A Bad Idea To Almost Everyone

Written by Brandon Stroud / 10.21.11

Lingerie-Football-Youth-League

There’s no delicate way to phrase this. The Lingerie Football League, wherein women play 7-on-7 tackle American football wearing helmets and their underwear for male fans not satisfied with the physicality of pre-existing cheerleaders, has decided that lingerie football is empowering to women and are looking to start a version of the league for children. “Fully clothed, of course!” says the report, and the statement issued by founder and chairman (and man, and possible GEICO Caveman) Mitchell Mortaza is even less reassuring.

“Obviously the improvement of our game is directly tied into the development of the future LFL athlete. What excites us at the league is seeing the caliber of athletes improve so vastly each season, now imagine in five years when we start fielding athletes that have trained their entire life for the opportunity to play LFL Football.”

Yes. Imagine. Then, imagine how exciting it would be if they could play football without their vagina hanging out.

You can check out a report from Seattle’s King5.com after the jump, followed quickly by five things terrible about it.

Newcastle United Gets Sports Marketing

Written by Ashley Burns / 09.07.11

In our continuing coverage of obnoxious European billionaires, Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has given his blessing to the team’s manager, Alan Pardew, to handle the scouting and rebuilding efforts during the international break, which means that Ashley was free to do what billionaires do best – namely throw nightclub parties and strip in front of a crowd of random people.

Thankfully, Newcastle is making up for Ashley’s pasty display with some new team merchandise to help the team’s fans feel a little better about themselves. They’re making sexy underwear.

The contract between the club and Premier Lingerie – described with northern lack of faff as ‘football-related underwear specialists’ – has a possible interest beyond the usual reasons for giving space to such a subject.

Premier points out that women now form about a fifth of regular football supporters in the uk, but only between three and five percent of club merchandise is aimed at them. (Via The Guardian)

Newcastle obviously isn’t the first team in any sport to sell lingerie, but the idea is still relatively new to the clubs across the pond. West Ham released a limited edition line in 2009, and Katy Perry showed off a sample at the MTV Europe Music Awards that year. I’ve heard that in Europe MTV still plays music.

Katy’s debut outfit and some Newcastle samples after the jump (available for purchase here).
