Sorry for the wordiness of that headline. If you stare at it long enough it looks like it says CHAIR CHAIR CHAIR CHAIR. But still, a wheelchair basketball player made a lay-up while falling out of his wheelchair and that deserves as many typings of CHAIR as possible.

You may have seen people Tweetering or Tumbling about an awesome play by the Miami Heat’s stars last night or this morning, but let me preface this by saying that it’s not the most amazeball moment in NBA history that some people are making it out to be. That said, here’s the setup.

The first place Miami Heat hosted the Houston Rockets last night, and LeBron James and Co. had their hands full with a team that just tied the NBA record for three-pointers in a game one night earlier with a 140-109 thrashing of the Golden State Warriors. However, the Heat were still able to squeak out a 114-108 win over Houston thanks to James and Dwyane Wade combining for 63 points.

But the play du jour came with 7:11 left in the 3rd quarter, as Udonis Haslem easily won a jump ball, and Wade did the gosh darn dirty from there by throwing a Flacco-esque pass across ¾ of the court to a wide open James, who then laid the ball in for the quick and easy score. It really was a thing of beauty.

I don’t know why this exists, but it’s a clip of a Belgian basketball player deciding to shoot on his own goal over and over, missing every single shot until somebody runs over and stops him. It’s like a surrealist painting in basketball clip form, and for the record, this is exactly what I look like when making lay-ups on any goal. (via Cosby Sweaters)

The two Vince Carter videos you’re about to watch, when viewed in succession, can illustrate one of two themes:

1. It is life in a nutshell. Even if you’re the guy who cleared a seven-footer in the Olympics, you’re capable of taking one of the worst shots in basketball history. And if you take one of the worst shots in basketball history, you’re still capable of throwing it down on the tallest guy on the court.

2. Blake Griffin’s playbook: you are terrible at basketball so just dunk, because you are so good at dunking.

Video number one features Carter pulling out a great ball fake, tries to softly finger-roll it in like so much George Gervin and airballing it like he’s me trying to pull that shot off in HORSE. Video number two, about three minutes of game clock later, features Carter dunking on 7-foot Kings center Hassan Whiteside like it was nothing.

A brief miscalculation, or Father Time chipping away at his legs? You make the call.
