These Kids At The NFL Experience Are The Most Adorable Thing You’ll See Today

Written by Ashley Burns / 02.02.12

I don’t normally like to post pictures of children, not because it’s creepy, but because they’re not Kate Upton. But I decided to change that today since there were a bunch of kids at the Super Bowl’s NFL Experience yesterday and they were absolutely adorable. And yes, this is my strange way of admitting that I had a sheltered childhood as a shogun assassin, and I’m quite jealous that these kids get to dive into pits of foam squares while pretending to catch a game-winning pass. All I had was a stupid Pogo Ball and Miami Dolphins tickets.

But childhood inadequacies aside, I’m just an absolute sucker for the images of little kids standing behind the gigantic NFL player bodies. Also, in a macabre sort of way, I started wondering, “What could Aaron Rodgers do to get his head chopped off?” I’m not saying I want him dead, because as I’ve already stated multiple times I have a huge hetero man crush on him, but seeing that giant No. 12 jersey with no head just got me thinking that a girl would have to be pretty pissed at him to chop his head off.

Dammit, I think I just made another federal watch list.

Junior Hockey’s ‘Lord Of The Flies’ Promotion Doesn’t Go As Well As Planned

Written by Brandon Stroud / 12.14.11

A few days ago we shared a clip from the toddler Kumite and people seemed to like it, so now every time children get stuck in brutally violent adult situations I’m going to try to share it — for example, by way of Best Week Ever comes this clip of a bunch of Kazakhstani 9-year olds turning a post-game hockey handslapping into a full-bore gang war.

It’s hard to pick a favorite part of any Kids Beating The Hell Out Of Each Other video, but I think the kid in the upper left corner at the :30 mark being carried away kicking and screaming like he’s Veruca Salt is the best. The worst part is Kokshetau-Burabay’s green #10 skating up and punching a kid in the back of the head while he’s in the mount. You’ve got to try pretty hard to be the least sportsmanlike person in a bench-clearing brawl.

The 10 Best Vicious Football Hits You’ll See This Week: Kids Edition!

Written by Ashley Burns / 10.27.11

Here at With Leather, we’re suckers for some good violence, between Brandon’s love of wrestling and my appreciation of a good football to the groin. But we don’t always get to catch all of the best stories and videos of the day, because we’re so busy trying to balance blogging and teaching MMA to toddlers. It’s a pretty hectic life we lead. But thankfully I have a lot of friends who have young kids and are starting to introduce them to sports to fill my email inbox with stories and videos of their kids dropping balls or spinning in circles. They keep me pretty grounded.

Of course that led me to exploring the YouTubes the other day for funny pee wee and child football league clips and I discovered what we basically already knew – parents are monsters. First of all, I know parents think their kids are the most awesome kids in the world, but that doesn’t mean they have to post 10,000 videos of their kids with each video claiming to be the most amazing play in pee wee football history. Secondly, kids aren’t very bright when they’re young. They can’t quite understand the complexities of football plays, so yelling at them about lining up properly or running routes doesn’t really register. You might want to stick to the basics.

Thankfully, out of the hundred or so pee wee and Pop Warner football videos I ended up watching this week, there were a few that had some quality entertainment values to them. Please note, that I’m not condoning violence in child sports – because there were a few videos I could have included but I’m not a monster so any that resulted in injuries or crying have been left out – but it is pretty funny watching kids tackle each other. Enjoy!
