Usain Bolt Dumped His Hot Girlfriend For One Of Several Dumb Reasons

Usain Bolt dumps girlfriend for London Olympics

If Fourth Place Medal‘s headline had been the end of the story (“Usain Bolt dumped his girlfriend to focus on London Olympics”) I would’ve disagreed with his decision, but I would’ve understood.

News reports suggest Bolt’s break up with Lubica Slovak, 28, was because of his desire to repeat his double gold/world record Olympic performance in London. The Jamaican swept the sprint events in 2008 and set the world marks in each race.

A source close to Bolt told the Sun, “He will have plenty of time for relationships. At the moment he’s concentrating on his running career and doesn’t want anything to distract from that.”

Being a peak Olympic athlete is an every-second-of-your-life dedication that requires unimaginable sacrifice, no matter how much faster you are than everyone already and no matter how foxy the Slovakian fashion designer you’ve been dating for six months is. An athlete’s heart is a deep ocean of secrets, or whatever. “Sorry, I can’t love you, I HAVE TO RUN A LOT.”

Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the end of the story. Some sources are saying that the Olympics had nothing to do with Usain calling it quits and that he broke up with Lubica because she’s white, he has a “white woman complex” and couldn’t deal with the backlash from a picture of them kissing. Because if a black guy and a white lady are dating for six months that’s fine, but if they kiss … that’s just too far.

Here’s the pic in question:

‘What The F*** Is Michael Jordan Wearing?’ Calls The Fashion Police On His Airness

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.04.12

I have this theory that Michael Jordan sincerely believes in his head that he is still 32-years old. That would explain why he parties with his sons, who are in college, and recently married his longtime girlfriend and model Yvette Prieto, who is fittingly 32. But it’s also the only thing that can explain why he’s so damn bipolar with his fashion sense.

I don’t want to suggest that Jordan always dresses like he lost a bet – which isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility – because he does have his moments of dapperness. But there is just so much photographic evidence to the contrary that it makes perfect sense that someone created a site devoted to Jordan’s lacking fashion sense.

“What the F*ck is Mike Wearing?” bluntly calls out the NBA’s greatest player of all-time and possibly worst owner of the last 10 years for his terrible style choices, and I’ve included some of their best/worst choices after the jump, as well as some of my own picks.

Dude, WTF Kris Humphries?

Written by Ashley Burns / 04.05.12

I’ve never heard of WestEast Magazine, but apparently it is quite the source of artsy fashion style stuff – I’m classy, bros – and it even has a website that might be up and running eventually. And what better way to launch said website than by merging style and fashion with professional sports, because as we all know so well, athletes love them some clothes.

So which superstar athlete did WestEast reach out to for its latest issue? Was it one of our noted style icons like LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Andre Iguodala, Dwyane Wade, or even documentary filmmaker and fashion guru Baron Davis? No, it was Kris Humphries. Did you not get that from the title of this post?

Kris, 27, was apparently interested in doing the shoot because of the James Bond action hero theme and “he thought it would be a fun thing to do. He’s a guy, so the action figure theme was appealing. Plus, he wanted to help out his friend, stylist Derek Warburton, who is WestEast‘s fahion director,” an insider told Hollywoodlife.com.

As for reports that Kris did the shoot as “revenge” on Kim Kardashian with whom he’s in the midst of a divorce? — Those rumors are “ridiculous” says a source. (Via Hollywood Life)

How the hell would a fashion shoot be revenge against a girl who Tweets about not wearing makeup as an excuse to post a picture of her huge breasts? Revenge would be actually proving in court that Kim Kardashian is guilty of fraud and that she knowingly and maliciously entered into a fake marriage to fool companies into paying her upwards of $17 million.

Revenge isn’t dressing up like a douchebag and making pouty faces because you think it makes you look like a British movie spy. Hollywood Life also has some exclusive pictures from Humphries’ shoot that I’ve included after the jump. Enjoy. But be ready for the last one. It’s a doozie.

Victor Cruz Looks All Pretty Now

Written by Ashley Burns / 03.07.12

"Dude."

Since bursting onto the New York Giants’ roster as a dominating speed receiver, Victor Cruz has become the NFL’s latest prom king – that out-of-nowhere stud that captures the spotlight and is beloved by everyone. Well, everyone except for Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins fans. But you get the point, people love Cruz and he’s certainly responded well to the new found fame.

After the Giants won the Super Bowl, Cruz seemed to be on a mission to become a household name, as he was the focus of rumors and invites to appear from TNA Wrestling to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City. And while he hasn’t accepted everything – sorry, TNA – he has made some wise decisions, like cutting the ribbon at Fashion Week with Kate Upton. Seriously, biggest no-brainer of all-time. “Would you like this giant box of Ferraris? Or would you like to stand next to Kate Upton?” Not even a debate.

But now I’m starting to wonder if maybe Cruz is getting a little too big for his own helmet these days. I understand the excitement of being thrust from unknown to elite, but let’s try to mix a little modesty in this smoothie of swag, can we? Case in point: Cruz joined LeBron James and Amar’e Stoudamire as part of the NY Post’s Page Six fashion makeover, and, well… New York truly has him now.

Baron Davis: Alleged American Style Icon

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.16.11

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal examined the NBA lockout from the “well, what the hell are they gonna do without jobs and money?” perspective, and I was pretty excited because I don’t think enough media outlets are asking that important question. A lot of the players don’t have the money to keep living in the manner which they’ve grown accustomed to, and too many of them don’t have the educational background to shift gears and find another job. And it’s not like any of them can make the jump to commentating.

So what are the league’s popular personalities up to? Well, Michael Beasley has been practicing ballet as his teammate Kevin Love has been playing beach volleyball. We already know that Delonte West is working at a furniture store – and how that hasn’t translated to a reality show is baffling me – while journeyman letdown Drew Gooden is purchasing multiple Wingstop franchises. Wingstop boasts that is has “taken chicken wings to a whole new level,” which I assume means that you eat them out of a woman’s cleavage, because otherwise a chicken wing is a chicken wing. But I digress.

The story focused on Cleveland Cavaliers eventual tradee Baron Davis, who says that us average American males are embarrassing him, because we just don’t know how to dress, and he’s telling us that in his new documentary film, American Schlub. Finally, someone other than my mom wants to lay my outfit out.

Serena Williams Is America’s True Fashion Icon

Written by Ashley Burns / 10.21.11

Serena Williams was out and about in West Hollywood the other night, and there’s really nothing else to report. I mean, I sure wish that something awesome happened like she single-handedly kicked the crap out of a group of terrorists who were hellbent on destroying Lindsay Lohan’s cocaine supply. Allegedly. Did I do that right?

Regardless, I was going through my arsenal of random sports photos and I realized a theme that I know other people have talked about, but since I’m a dude I’ve always drowned it out, usually with the Golden Girls theme song. Williams is quite the fashionista when she’s not on the tennis court, and even when she is playing she tends to be a bit more unique and daring. But I thought we’d spend today’s slow news day – screw you, Game 2 – exploring Serena’s status as an American – nay, global! – fashion icon.
