Poll: Women Should Stay Out Of Locker Rooms

Written by JOSH Z / 10.05.10

INES (INEZ?) WILL MARRY ANYONE

Seton Hall University polled a whole bunch of women on that Inez Sainz business that happened in the New York Jets locker room a couple weeks ago, and the results were interesting: almost three-fifths of women polled said that women don’t belong in NFL locker rooms. Not surprisingly, almost 90 percent thought that this dress made them look fat.

The telephone poll conducted this week among 1,026 randomly selected adults nationwide found 59 percent of 556 women and 47 percent of 470 men said female reporters should be banned from NFL locker rooms. Thirty-four percent of the respondents said all reporters should be banned. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

“It is unusual to find women more than men in favor of limiting a woman’s right, in this case a reporter in a men’s locker room,” Rick Gentile, director of the Seton Hall Sports Poll, said in a statement. –NJ Star-Led.

I don’t really think of interviewing naked athletes to be a right in any sense, but rather a privilege extended to both male and female representatives of the media. I’ve asked this before: why is anybody other than athletes in there? The press can do their interviews outside, or at practice. The last thing this cruel world of ours needs is more penis.

Rex Ryan Is Here To Cooperate, Snack

Written by Ashley Burns / 09.15.10

Rex

Only a few days removed from losing their season opener on Monday Night Football, the intergalactic championship favorite New York Jets are still answering questions about the accusations by Pulitzer-winning TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz. Sainz, of course, became a household name after she Tweeted that Jets players were harassing her during one of their team practices in New Jersey. Jets Coach Rex Ryan assured the media that his team is an open book and they are fully cooperating, adding, “Mmmmm, butterface.”

Ryan claims he doesn’t know what Sainz is talking about; however, his name has been reported among the potential harassers in question. But when she was at the MNF game between the Jets and the Baltimore Ravens, Sainz was glad to answer questions about it. Then she was glad to go on the Today Show and talk about it. But, trust us, guys – she thinks it is being blown way out of proportion.

Heartfelt quote and video of Ines on the Today Show after the jump:

Jets Locker Room: A ‘Woman In Football’ Speaks Out

Written by uproxx / 09.15.10

JETS LOCKER ROOM

Allison Van Pelt* has worked “for the better part of a decade” in multiple jobs in and around professional football. Before today, I knew who she was, but relatively little about her experience in the game. In the wake of this this Ines Sainz/Clinton Portis business, Allison wanted to deliver some of her thoughts on how women have been treated in the game over the course of her career. We were only too happy to accommodate.

I was recently told by a superior that I am lucky to work for a company that gives me the respect they do, given that I am a female in the football industry.

The part about getting respect here is true. I certainly no longer feel uncomfortable, as I did when I was working for other football-related organizations. I don’t have to worry about ignoring the type of comments that Ines Sainz heard from Jets players and coaches, and Brett Favre isn’t sending me pictures of his junk.

But does that mean I should consider myself lucky? That would be like saying that all women in the corporate world are “lucky” that they no longer live in a Mad Men-esque world, where looking as attractive as possible to your employer is considered a career goal. Read the rest of this entry »

Hot Reporter Upset About Being Hot

Ines

SEXY UPDATE: For those of you that missed the gallery, enjoy. We’ll have more sports shortly.

In today’s reporter-turning-themselves-into-news news, TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz has complained to Roger Goodell and the NFL that New York Jets players made lewd and suggestive comments at her during the team’s practices she covered in New Jersey. And if you’ve survived the shock of that sentence, there’s so much more. Sainz recently Tweeted en espanol that she was “dying of embarrassment” because of the catcalls she received. Surprisingly, her complaint features no mention of Rex Ryan demanding burritos.

Goodell and his gentleman Gestapo are investigating Sainz’s allegations and the Jets apparently discussed the matters in their team meeting last night. Jets owner Woody Johnson personally called Sainz to get her side of the story. Upon greeting her, he said, “Hello Ines, this is Woody Johnson. Woody, like a boner. Johnson, like a boner.”

ASYLUM POLL: Did Sainz bring that harassment upon herself?

Respect my blogging skills for the quality of my dick jokes and not for the size of my bulge, NY Daily News:
