Female Boxer Gets A Discount

LeBron Pendant

If you’re anything like me, you don’t frequent garage sales too often, the last thing I want to do on a Saturday morning is ruffle through someone’s old stuff. HOWEVAH, every so often, there’s a story of someone finding something extremely valuable for a really low price. That must really suck for the people having the garage sale. Aren’t they selling the things they don’t need anymore because they’re really strapped for cash? A female boxer in Akron found a LeBron James pendant at a local garage sale four years ago. She got it appraised and found out it was worth almost 10 grand. The price she got it for? 5 bucks. Someone must really be jonesin for a pack of smokes.

An Ohio woman who paid $5 at a yard sale for a LeBron James pendant she thought was costume jewelry has found out it’s worth nearly $10,000.

Twenty-year-old Vaneisha Robinson says she used to wear the basketball jersey-shaped pendant to high school when she didn’t know its value. Then she had it appraised.

The International Gemological Institute says Robinson’s find is the real deal. Gemologist Jerry Ehrenwald says the 14-karat white gold pendant sports more than 2 carats of diamonds. –ESPN

That’s a pretty horrible return on a 10 grand investment. You know what you could have bought with the remaining 9,995 dollars you lost by buying something that stupid? A 3D TV, and still had enough money to buy a ton of booze and drugs for a party to celebrate your new TV. Robinson put the item up on ebay, but it’s no longer available. That means she sold it to some schmuck. I can imagine him wearing it around to brag to this friends. I just wish I could see his expression change from really excited to angry, frustrated, and confused because it’s outdated already. “But the seller said it was authentic,” he’d say. THE HUMANITARIAN BOWL JUST GOT BIGGER

05.31.07 Written by Matt

Hey college football fans!  Do you love Boise in December?  Me neither!  Regardless, the Humanitarian Bowl — formerly known as the Crucials.com Humanitarian Bowl and the MPC Computers Humanitarian Bowl — will now be the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl.

The Boise college football bowl game played each December at Bronco Stadium has a new sponsor: Roady’s Truck Stops… The chain has headquarters in New Plymouth, Idaho, with locations around the country.  The "Truck Stops" portion of the company's name will not be included in the bowl title.

Apparently, they didn't want it to be confused with the Truck Stop Bowl, which I believe is played on I-80 in Ohio.  Beautiful stretch of highway there.  All the grit and depression of Gary, Indiana, but without the buildings.
