Hedo Brought No Talents To Orlando

Written by Ashley Burns / 12.22.10

One of the joys of being a Magic fan was hearing the mixed reactions from other fans in the days after Otis Smith announced a major shakeup to the team’s roster. A lot of fans were really upset by the loss of either Vince Carter or Rashard Lewis, but that just confirmed my longtime theory that fans of Florida sports teams are dumb (myself included). But the major joyous reaction regarded the return of Hedo Turkoglu, as fans were excited to bring the pride of Turkey back. Meanwhile, I thought about all the strip clubs I could have visited instead of renewing my season tickets.

While he’s only played in two games since the trade, the 31-year old – in his second year of a 5-year, $53 million dollar deal – has scored a combined 17 points while racking up 8 personal fouls, including 5 last night in his return to Orlando. But despite those pooptastic numbers, Hedo’s greatest moment of his Orlando homecoming came on a fast break that could have turned the momentum in the Magic’s favor in the closing minutes. Instead, he probably made the year’s Not Top 10.

Gilbert Arenas Traded As Orlando Magic Fires The Infantry

Written by JOSH Z / 12.20.10

It has often been said after the dismissal of a prominent head coach that “You can’t fire the infantry.” On Saturday, the Orlando Magic actually did that, executing two blockbuster trades that saw nearly a third of its roster heading elsewhere. The bigger of the two deals was arguably for Gilbert Arenas, who finds himself leaving DC after seven years as a Washington Wizard.

The Magic sent forward Rashard Lewis to Washington and Vince Carter, Mickael Pietrus and Marcin Gortat to Phoenix in a separate trade. Orlando also gave Phoenix its 2011 first-round draft pick and cash and received Suns forward Earl Clark.

“We needed a little bit more punch,” Magic president Otis Smith said. “All those guys coming in have an ability to move the ball. After looking at our team through 25 games, we were missing a little something. I thought change was needed.”

From Phoenix, Orlando acquired Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu, who rejoins the team after departing for Toronto as a free agent in 2009. It’s an insanely busy roster shuffling, and one has to wonder now if the state of Florida’s new Big Three will get their act together like their counterparts down south. Arenas, Hedu and Dwight Howard is no LeBron, D-Wade and Bosh, but it’ll be fun to see how close they can make the comparison.

HEDO TURKOGLU INSPIRES NAKED LUST

Written by Matt / 05.14.08

Even though his Orlando Magic got bounced from the playoffs last night, Hedo Turkoglu can't hang his head for long, not just because he won the NBA's Most Improved Player award, was a go-to shooter in the playoffs (albeit one who couldn't make said critical shots) and was an easy choice for the league All-Beard team.

No, he probably shouldn't hang his head, because he needs to keep it on a swivel while on the lookout for the loopy woman who, in the last few days, has posted in a number of YouTube videos in which she photoshops naked pictures of herself on top of stills of Hedo. Others bare his name in the title and have her gyrating about in her skivvies. The poster "CorinasLips1989" alters the woman's name back and forth from Juliana to Luliana, no doubt to keep police guessing when Hedo's severed head shows up in the mail at the precinct in a few days.

After the jump is the most coherent of the many very NSFW videos floating around the tubes:
