Sports On TV: 15 More Great Sports Moments From Saved By The Bell

Written by Brandon Stroud / 04.25.13

Saved by the Bell golfing

The very first show featured in our Sports On TV column was ‘Saved By The Bell,’ and with good reason. It’s one of those shows we’ve all seen whether we like it or not, and face it, you can’t spell “Internet” without ‘Saved By The Bell.’

Saved By The Bell’s 20 Greatest Sports Moments featured so many of the classics — Zack becoming an Indian to deal with track team stress, girls on the wrestling team, wheelchair basketball, Zack hitting a soon-to-be-dead-from-oil-spillage duck with a baseball — but it didn’t feature them all. It’s only fitting that the first part 2 entrant in Sports on TV history would be 15 MORE great sports moments from the show.

So, please click through to enjoy sports moments 21-35 from ‘Saved By The Bell.’ Warning: there is a lot of spooning-disguised-as-instruction gags in these entries. A LOT.

Sports On TV: Married… With Children’s 20 Greatest Sports Moments

Written by Brandon Stroud / 09.06.12

Let’s rock.

Each week, Sports On TV looks at the 20 (or so) greatest sports-related moments from television shows that aren’t always about sports. This week we tackle the low-brow 1987-97 FOX classic ‘Married… With Children’, and honestly, it’s the closest we’ve come to saying f**k it and just writing about sports shows. MWC featured more sports moments and guest appearances than almost any other sitcom, and even featured a sports moments clip-show in the middle of its 10th season. Instead of just finding that on YouTube and posting it here, we’ve put together our own list.

The entire run of ‘Married…’ is currently streaming on Netflix, so if you read about Al Bundy punching a heavyset lady in the stomach or beating a bunch of old people at track and field and want to check it out, you can do so there. If our top 20 didn’t feature your favorite moment, be sure to drop down into the comments section and let us know what we missed.

But for now, enjoy the 20 greatest sports moments from ‘Married… With Children’. Let’s get the greatest moment in television history out of the way first …

MARIA WANTS TO BE TREATED LIKE A WOMAN

Written by Drew Magary / 10.10.08

I have a long and extensive personal history of gratifying myself to the ladies of pro wrestling. Miss Elizabeth. Sable. Debra’s Puppies. Stacy Kiebler. Terri Runnels (who kinda looked like a dude, but masturbators can’t be choosers!). And who can forget the day Torrie Wilson burst onto the WCW scene with her “David Flair Pool Hall POV Gonzo Porn” scene? Not my pants monkey, that’s for sure.

The WWE has done a fine job over the years building and maintaining a large stable of trashy, slutty looking women. And one their best is Maria Kanellis, who posed this week for a new pictorial for The Sun. Why, I do believe I have a foreign object hidden in my pants right now. She also gave the paper an interview. Hey, who knew women talked?

”I may kick some butt out there, but at the end of the day I’m still a girl and I still want to be treated like one. I need someone who is romantic even when I’m in my pajamas and watching some terrible movie and eating burnt popcorn.

Why are you burning the popcorn? I told you specifically to take it out of the microwave AS THE POPPING SLOWS DOWN. God, YOU MAKE ME SO ANGRY SOMETIMES!

What? She said she wanted to be treated like a girl.
