According To ‘Big Baby Gon’ Turn It Up,’ Big Baby Is Going To Turn It Up

Glen Davis’ new song by Glen Davis.

It takes a special kind of man to record his own ego anthem. Pro wrestler Shawn Michaels did it with ‘Sexy Boy,’ and now Orlando Magic forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis has done it with his Glen Davis-themed club-banger ‘Big Baby Gon’ Turn It Up’.

In the song, Big Baby assures us that Big Baby is gon’ turn it up. Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel has details, including the question I’m sure is going through your head as you listen to Big Baby Gon’ Turn It Up: “are you ever going to make another song, n/n?”

Davis recently recorded a song called “Big Baby Gon’ Turn It Up,” and it’s kind of catchy. It features his voice, with some significant enhancements provided by Auto-Tune.

Davis was asked whether he’s going to release an album. A smile crossed his face.

“No,” he said, still grinning. “I’m a one-hit wonder.”

So, here we are. Furthermore,

ROFLMNBAO: The 2011-12 Season Awards Edition!

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.03.12

I took a couple weeks off from doing these here ROFLMNBAO posts for two reasons: 1) because the last two weeks of the season were soooooo boring and B) I forgot. But I figured what better time than now to resume posting these NBA meme pictures since the news that they’re so in demand. Form a line to the left, attractive girls who want to give me money to create ridiculously corny-sounding sites!

Also, I figured it was a better time than any for this week’s installment with the playoffs in full swing and individual awards being presented by the league. As we already know, Tyson Chandler is the Defensive Player of the Year, Jason Kidd received the Sportsmanship Award and Gregg Popovich is the Coach of the Year. “What about the other awards?” you ask while peeling apart the pages of my vintage Hustler collection. The NBA is taking its sweet ass time with those, so I’m issuing my own awards.

A lot happened in this condensed season, so it’s only fair that we recognize everyone for their efforts.

Presenting ‘Magic Johnson: The Gathering’

Written by Bill Hanstock / 03.30.12

Magic Johnson: The Gathering

The sports world is abuzz with the news that a Magic-Johnson fronted group broke the dang old bank in order to purchase the Dodgers for over $2 billion, which is a figure so absurd that it may as well be written like a comic strip character says cuss words.

“Yes  Mr. McCourt, and our counter-offer is #!%*& dollars.”

Anyway, it’s no secret by now that Magic Johnson, while not a billionaire himself, is a mega-entrepreneur and philanthropist. Already in 2012, he’s bought a baseball team and announced he’s launching a television network. What’s next, a chain of restaurants that are like Applebee’s, but with edible food? A series of Wal*Mart-style superstores? It’s almost like he’s some kind of business wizard. Almost like he’s … gathering spectacular assets.

Wait a minute. Wizard … gathering … Magic … I think we may be on to something here, ladies and gentlemen. In the spirit of Magic Johnson’s spectacular purchase, I am pleased to present the nerdiest sequence of jokes to ever appear on With Leather. It is my pleasure to present to you a very special type of card game: a collectible one.

Faithful readers, I proudly present Magic Johnson: The Gathering.

ROFLMNBAO: This Week In NBA Pictures

Written by Ashley Burns / 02.01.12

Much to no one’s surprise, the Oklahoma City Thunder are currently the best team in the NBA, as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook continue their strange “I’m not better than him but I’m secretly better than him” routine, and the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat have all but locked up their eventual meeting in the Eastern Conference Finals. And as I pointed out yesterday, while I might be a little biased, the Orlando Magic’s incredible collapse is probably the most interesting story in the NBA right now.

Other than that, all eyes are on the trade mill, so essentially the Magic are the focus of everyone with Dwight Howard standing firm with his preferred teams of the Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and New Jersey Nets. Of course he’s also said that he’d play for the Boston Celtics or Chicago Bulls, but it’s clear as day that he wants to play in New Jersey or Brooklyn or wherever, and Magic GM Otis Smith is way too stubborn to trade him, so Howard will most likely sign there as a free agent.

Everything else is pretty much business as usual. So let’s make fun of everyone, shall we?

Big Baby Davis – A High Flyer, Indeed

Written by Ryan Walsh / 02.14.11

The Boston Celtics edged out the Miami Heat 85-82 in Boston, last night, in a very sloppy basketball game. Paul Pierce shot 0-10 from the field, Chris Bosh ended up playing the best individual game of the afternoon, and Mike Miller, of all people, took the shot that would have tied the game as time expired. The Heat, however, were lucky to get a chance to send the game into overtime.

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis had a breakaway dunk opportunity early in the second quarter, but channeled his inner Woody Harrelson, and got stuffed by the front of the rim like an idiot. How is he still in the NBA? Don’t you have to be able to dunk to be an NBA big man? I’d rather watch a high school game instead of Glen Davis. At least high school games have cheerleader jailbait.

The fail, in its entirety, after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Big Baby Will Teach You How To Dougie

Written by Ryan Walsh / 07.20.10

glen-davis-is-graceful

I’m jealous of those of you who don’t know how to Dougie, because I really wish I didn’t. The Dougie is a popular new dance in rap culture, and it’s almost as stupid as the Stanky Legg. I say almost as stupid, because nothing will ever be as atupid as the Stanky Legg. And no, I haven’t been misspelling leg. Well, I have, but only because that’s how the guy who invented the dance spells it. I know, I’m ashamed to be alive, too.

Either way, the Dougie is the newest stupid dance to hit Youtube, and Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis was kind enough to show the entire world how to Dougie. Video after the jump, but the language is NSFW. Read the rest of this entry »
