Welcome to our weekly installment of Friday Face-Off, in which we pit two random videos against each other in the ultimate battle of “Awwww” and “Oh snap!” as you, our glorious With Leatherites, determine which video shall forever live in infamy as a champion. As we tip-toe toward Christmas, I thought we’d try a little experiment to see if it’s possible for anything to be better than Santa Claus, who is totally real despite what my brother has been telling me for 27 years. Obviously I have a great deal of respect for the other many wonderful holidays that take place at this time of year, but they don’t have any mascots with immense commercial appeal, so maybe they should try a little harder.

That said, our first video this week is a super heavyweight contender, as it features the world’s most popular animal of the week, Siku the polar bear cub, who was abandoned by his mom because she couldn’t produce milk. Abandoned. On Christmas. Is it cold in here? Then it’s time to turn up the cute.

Today’s Friday Face-Off is brought to you buy Kayaking Dog, who popped up at Imgur earlier this week and quickly stole the Internet’s heart. He has nothing to do with today’s videos, but he would like to remind you that this is a weekly competition between two random videos that I’ve found while wasting my days and we highly encourage you to help us choose which one is better. For this week’s Friday Face-Off, I thought I’d make the choice a little more difficult by playing on two of our favorite things – animals doing awesome stuff and ridiculously unbelievable violence and destruction. You know, raise the bar a bit and make us really have to think about this while we’re ignoring whatever the hell we’re supposed to be doing.

First up, a penguin. But this isn’t just any penguin. This is a penguin that has apparently been trained like a dog and that is awesome. I’m obsessed with penguins because they just seem so cool, like they should be able to talk to us and give advice. This one can fetch a newspaper, and while I can’t remember the last time I picked up a newspaper, I would totally start reading them again if penguins brought them to me.

Anywho, today’s Friday Face-Off once again finds us marveling over the brilliance of animals. Honestly, I can’t ever get tired of videos of dogs doing human stuff. In fact, if someone made a video of Kate Upton as the Coppertone girl, holy sh*t.

First up, we have a dog that can get its own ice cubes. It’s pretty simple, but it’s super awesome.

It hit me the other day as I was doing push-ups in front of some Victoria’s Secret models that I forgot to put together a Friday Face-Off last week, as I was too busy breaking the world record for most times complaining about having to get up from the couch to walk all the way to the fridge. Welcome to a brand new weekly feature here at With Leather, the Friday Face-Off, in which we take two of the week’s best random videos and pit them against each other to determine which is the champion. Yes, it is that simple, and yes, we are way too excited about it. This week’s inaugural installment finds us examining two animal videos that have both been deemed excellent by millions of people that I just made up. The first video features a pet rabbit that opens letters for its owner with perfect precision.

I don’t get much mail, but I would really like a rabbit that could open my letters. If I had one, I might actually look at my bills before throwing them out.
