WWE Raw Open Discussion Thread 10/22/12: The New Team Hell No Anthem

Written by Brandon Stroud / 10.22.12

Team Hell NoThis is probably the greatest song ever recorded, courtesy of the phenomenally talented SHINING WIZADO, with a h/t to Zak. Please listen to it a hundred thousand times. Let’s get it to AT LEAST Charlie Bit My Finger’s views.

Tonight on the WWE Raw open discussion thread:

It’s official: Ryback’s movable feast will lead him to Hell in a Cell, where the ravenous Superstar will square off against CM Punk for the WWE Championship in one of the most hotly anticipated contests of the year. Until then, though, what will WWE’s fastest-rising star have in store for the embattled champion as their showdown draws nearer? Also, who will emerge as the No. 1 contenders for Team Hell No’s Tag Team Championships, and how will The Miz respond to his historic loss to Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston on WWE Main Event? Funny you should ask, because WWE.com has five things to look forward to tonight on Raw. (via WWE.com)

The Oklahoma City Thunder Have Gone Full Public Access

Written by Brandon Stroud / 09.20.12

Oklahoma City Thunder assisted living song

What are the chances that you woke up this morning wishing you could hear an Oklahoma City Thunder anthem set to the tune of ‘Rawhide’, performed on a keyboard and sung by people at an Oklahoma assisted living center? If you answered, “100 percent,” you’re in luck!

This officially usurps the Carly Rae Jepsen parody “Call Me KD” as the best OKC fan song we’ve ever written about at With Leather, but it’s not really fair. This one has an old lady bobbing up and down while a keyboard guy who may or may not be my dad points at her to fill in the breaks. This is the stuff dreams are made of.

Today’s Winner: Razorbacks United We Stand

Written by Brandon Stroud / 09.10.12

Razorbacks United We StandSome videos are made viral. Some videos are viral in the womb. Ladies and gentlemen, RAZORBACKS United We Stand.

EDSBS and Deadspin have just shared this video of a woman in a Razorbacks helmet (not the one Arkansas wears on the field, an actual hog-shaped helmet) and flair (“Hogs Are Beautiful”) singing United We Stand “in the style of Brotherhood Of Man” to celebrate the team’s 34-31 loss to Louisiana-Monroe. Maybe I should’ve put celebrating in quotes. I’m not sure what she’s doing, and frankly I started getting dizzy about 30 seconds into it. Oh, also, she’s got tape on her nose like Pee-wee Herman doing “mad dog” in his bathroom mirror.

Hopefully you’ll get to see this before it gets taken down, because every Arkansas fan with access to YouTube is demanding it. Sample responses: “Please take this down, lady. This is embarrasing”, “please take this down before it goes viral” and “Kill yourself”. This might be the viral video equivalent of Gia Carangi — too beautiful to die, too wild to live.

And Here Come The RG3 Rap Tributes

Written by Brandon Stroud / 09.10.12

The Redskins beat the Saints 40-32 on Sunday, and in NFL fan terms that means “the Redskins are going to have a great season and win the Superbowl”, so here’s the first of what I assume will be an absolute deluge of RG3 rap tributes. This one is from “Money M.I.C.” and features a burning Troy Aikman jersey. Because, you know, that’s timely. (via Outside The Boxscore)

Update: Michigan Students Would Rather Have College Football Than Threesomes

Written by Brandon Stroud / 08.28.12

I_love_you_denard

16 on the field, number one in my heart.

They’re kidding and this is not documentary footage (I think), but Pat Stansik and the band Mind’s Eyes have released a video for their Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson anthem ‘I Love You Denard’, and yes, they’d rather watch Denard gain a yard than have a three-way make-out session with two foxy-ish Michigan teens.

Fan songs can be really hit or miss and there are few things I enjoy throwing shade at more than Michigan, but I have to admit, this one’s pretty good. It sounds like a Free Credit Report Dot Com band’s song about Denard Robinson might, but still, pretty good. My only real problem with it is that this “Mind’s Eyes” isn’t Sweden’s leading pro metal band Mind’s Eye doing a song about Michigan. Ah well, not really their fault.

Anyway, check out the video below. Warning: this video contains people making hearts with their hands.
