There hasn’t been a good basketball fight in a while, but thankfully some good ol’ fashioned Euro ball was able to buck that trend. The Greek and Serbian national teams took their differences to fisticuffs in what was supposedly a ‘friendly’ game. A game which had to be abandoned because the fight got just a bit out of control. That’s eerily similar to my sex life. Things start off nice enough, but get violent quickly.

The 15 basketball purists in attendance may have been disappointed with the violent turn of events, but they need look no further than Oklahoma City center Nenad Kristic to refund whatever Communist currency they used to buy scalp their tickets.

Basketball teams from Serbia and Greece brawled at at the Acropolis Tournament in Athens. It ended with Nenad Krstic of the Oklahoma City throwing a chair that hit Greece center Yannis Bouroussis.

Krstic was held in police custody but has been released. –USA Today

Leave it to a Serbian to horribly imitate he saw on 80s American television. Macho Man Randy Savage would have bitch slapped Kristic for throwing the chair instead using it as a bludgeoning tool. I can’t dunk a basketball, and while many of my partners in pigmentation would blame that on being a member of the Caucasian persuasion, I blame the fact that I never thought of kicking the defender in the groin, and then using that newfound footspace to elevate myself above the rim. I mean, look at all the air that former George Mason “star” Tony Skinn gets! I’m surprised that ref didn’t interpret that an extra step and call him for traveling. Or, you know, a charge. I guess the push-off is legal in Europe. That’s cool. I could totally jump off another guy’s junk. And I should get going, because at this rate it’ll be an Olympic event in 10 years. There’s two big problems that I have with PSA ads in general. They either make the antagonist of their ads so repulsive that the viewer can’t identify with the message, or they’re just unintentionally hilarious. This one, a well-intended spot to condemn the use of gay pejoratives by soccer fans in Europe, is actually both. I don’t know how bad calling someone a “bender” or a “bommer” is over there, but it certainly doesn’t look like as much fun as throwing change at some aging newsie. A pair of Russian ice dancers have been causing a stir after unveiling a program that pays “tribute” to aborigines of Australia. G’day, mate! But now people are even more pissed since Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin used the routine to take the lead in the European Figure Skating Championships.

The program has also sparked controversy since its debut three weeks ago in St. Petersburg, Russia. Australian media on Thursday cited aboriginal leaders as complaining that the routine contained inauthentic steps and gaudy costumes.

Shabalin later said that although neither of them have been to Australia, they aimed for authenticity by doing research on the internet. –Y! News

Their internet viewing probably consisted of Kevin Bacon’s The Air Up There and that one movie where Richard Dreyfuss makes up a completely fake African tribe. I think it was African. Well, none of them were wearing shirts, anyway. But honestly, anyone that thinks America has racism issues needs to spend a few weeks in Europe. They only reason they don’t have a Klan over there is because Chanel doesn’t make hoods and they’re all afraid of fire.

I'm not quite sure what the point of a European dunk contest would be. Maybe all the players bring a hot chick onto the court. That's the only thing that might make sense to me, because this guy doesn't even come close to pulling off his dunk. He doesn't even come close to close.

Really? The judges gave him 3s? What's a guy gotta do to get a zero? Because on a scale of 1 to Dwight Howard, this is an F-minus.
