Because It’s Friday, Meet Winston, The Tap-Dancing English Bulldog

Written by Ashley Burns / 03.22.13

I’m going to be 100 percent honest right now – short of the University of Oregon’s cheerleaders kidnapping me and forcing me to watch anything but college basketball today (and I welcome them to try), I’m not really interested in anything other news right now. However, I will make an exception for any video that claims to feature a tap-dancing English Bulldog, because I’m a human being with feelings and a working brain, obviously.

According to the video’s description:

This is Winston our 4 year old Bulldog. He came to us from Bulldog Rescue a Bulldog welfare charity based in South East England. Winston has coordination and balance problems and is partially deaf but that sure dont stop him dancing. He just loves to dance. Excuse the over excited encouragement but it helps get him in his groove.

This video makes me happy. I had an English Bulldog that also loved to dance and chase basketballs around the house, so I could watch Winston’s moves on a loop. I won’t, however, because there are GIFs of those Oregon cheerleaders making the rounds, and I find that to be slightly more important. No offense, Winston.

Meet Sharky, The Krumping German Hockey Mascot Shark

Written by Brandon Stroud / 11.27.12

Sharky mascot hip hop danceIf you’ve ever wanted to see a shark in a hockey jersey hit a B-boy stance, here you go.

What you’re watching is THE GREATEST THING EVER OH MY GOD Deutsche Eishockey Liga mascot “Sharky” entertaining the crowd by breakdancing his shark ass off. It’s funny enough to see a German dude in a shark costume dancing like nobody’s watching, but everything about the clip is great … move-busting sharks, hockey existing, foreign hockey games having profane soundtracks because nobody can understand the words, and even the name of the team, Kölner Haie. It means “Cologne Sharks”. That is amazing.

I can’t thank Puck Daddy enough for bringing Sharky into my life. Please direct any and all Sharky-related news to me until I am dead.

Oregon Duck Gangnam Style Is Happening And Nobody Can Stop It

Written by Brandon Stroud / 08.30.12

Oregon Duck Gungnam Style

I’ve got to be honest. I’ve read the Official Guide provided by the UPROXX mothership and six days later I still have no f**king clue what Gangnam Style is.

That being said, Burnsy sent me an e-mail titled IMPORTANT with a link to the Oregon Duck going Gangnam Style (do you DO Gangnam Style or GO Gangnam Style? Go sounds better) and I would be a terrible, terrible person if I didn’t share it with you. Please consult that style guide I linked in the opening paragraph, then proceed beyond the cut, where Oregon Duck Gangnam Style awaits you.

Friday Face-Off: A Dog Gets Its Own Ice Vs. A 1970s Dog Disco

Written by Ashley Burns / 12.09.11

Welcome to this week’s installment of the Friday Face-Off, in which we take two random videos and pit them against each other in a battle to become the greatest video on the Internet. While they’re not always going to be videos about animals, they will most likely be videos about animals. Email your submissions to BurnsyWL@gmail.com for t-shirt consideration.

You’ll have to forgive the banner image, because it has nothing to do with this week’s Friday Face-Off. I just found it the other day and have been wanting to use it, so I figured why not now? Anywho, today’s Friday Face-Off once again finds us marveling over the brilliance of animals. Honestly, I can’t ever get tired of videos of dogs doing human stuff. In fact, if someone made a video of Kate Upton as the Coppertone girl, holy sh*t.

First up, we have a dog that can get its own ice cubes. It’s pretty simple, but it’s super awesome.

Friday Face-Off: A Bunny Letter Opener Vs. The Chipmunk Ballerina

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.18.11

Welcome to a brand new weekly feature here at With Leather, the Friday Face-Off, in which we take two of the week’s best random videos and pit them against each other to determine which is the champion. Yes, it is that simple, and yes, we are way too excited about it. This week’s inaugural installment finds us examining two animal videos that have both been deemed excellent by millions of people that I just made up. The first video features a pet rabbit that opens letters for its owner with perfect precision.

I don’t get much mail, but I would really like a rabbit that could open my letters. If I had one, I might actually look at my bills before throwing them out.
