Irvine police have arrested a high school baseball coach suspected of posing as a female on Facebook and convincing underage boys to send him sexual pictures of themselves.

Zachary Reeder, 30, of Orange set up a fake profile using a photo of a blonde female, police said, and used the social networking site to form relationships with his victims.

Reeder was arrested Saturday on suspicion of lewd conduct with a child, possession and distribution of child pornography, and child annoyance. (via Daily Pilot)

The worst part about the Manti Te’o story making “Catfishing” a household word is that a bunch of the less-clever perverts found out and went, “wow, I’m gonna try that!” So now women are being lured into jewel heists or whatever and local reporters are getting Catfished on Facebook for money. I wish we could go back in time to 2009, when the only way we had to address people with imaginary internet relationships was “stop being stupid.”

Tyrone Farrar was just your average high school basketball coach/security guard, with a loving wife and his 14-year old mistress. The 30-year old Lawrence, Massachusetts man is in a little bit of choppy water, though, as he was arrested yesterday for impaired driving, possession of a 9 mm handgun, and, you know, banging a 14-year old girl. But before you get all judgmental, they started sleeping together when she was 13 and he was 29, and she loves him. So it’s cool, right?

Farrar is being held on rape charges, as his criminally young lady friend told police and her mom that the two had been carrying on the affair since 2009, and that often they’d get together for a romp in his van down the street from her house. Because, you know, sometimes felonious underage infidelity requires real romance. But Farrar got sloppy, and his wife found out, so of course she left him and turned him into the cops…

A former gymnastics coach at the University of Illinois is being investigated after a video camera was found hidden in the locker room.  Police recently searched John Valdez’s home and computer files for criminal evidence.  Sexy criminal evidence.

Valdez helped train U.S. gymnasts at the Beijing Olympics. He resigned from the Illini coaching staff last month citing personal issues, including a pending drunken driving charge in Wisconsin.

Oh, c’mon.  The video camera obviously didn’t belong to Valdez.  As someone who knows a little something about sexual deviancy, believe me, you don’t quit your job without first collecting all your girls gymnastics team recording equipment.

Careful readers of With Leather and assorted fans of pedophile coaches will likely remember Batholomew McInerney, the New Jersey baseball coach who was arrested for videotaping one of his players fondle himself and victimizing at least one other player.  As it turns out, prosecutors added an extra nine counts of sexual abuse to his charge sheet.

The Spring Lake Heights resident is accused of offering to pay male students, ranging in age from 15 to 17, for performing sexual acts on themselves and encouraging them to send him text messages describing the act…

"In some the cases the boys were actually paid on numerous occasions for their messages," [prosecutor Laurie] Gerhardt said.

Well I should hope so.  I don't care who you are, NO ONE deserves to get private underage erotica for free.  You can pay for it like the rest of us at the adult book store, mister.
