Someone Be A Gentleman And Help Kate Upton With That Gas Can

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.29.12

Oops, sorry. That’s Brooklyn Decker up there, not Kate Upton. They’re still just too damn easy to confuse with each other.

Anywho, Decker was on hand for the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday as a guest of Coke Zero and to promote her new film Battleship, which is currently doing its best Kenny Wallace impression at the box office. Either way, someone won the race, and apparently nobody cares who it was because we’re all distracted by the late night Cinemax film that Decker and Danica Patrick filmed before the race.

Let your minds wander as far as they want, folks…

In a joint appearance, Patrick explained the nuances of a NASCAR pit stop, and Decker was given the chance to try to jack the car and pack it with fuel.

“Is it magnetized?” Decker asked while trying to insert the gas can into the car. “It doesn’t latch? Well, that doesn’t seem very smart. There has to be a better way.”

Patrick laughed and noted, “Well, there could be a better way, but somewhat of the fun of NASCAR is we keep things a little more do-it-yourself.”

“She’s a good sport,” Patrick added. “I know I wouldn’t want to pick up the gas cans. I just like turning left.”

“You’re really good at turning left,” Decker said. “She’s so skilled and talented. If I can hold your gas can, I’m honored.” (Via USA Today)

Yeah, you hold her gas can, you dirty girl. Come on, let’s step this up a little, ladies. There’s a guy rubbing the crotch of his Wrangler cut-offs that needs a pay-off.

The With Leather Guide To Not Mixing Up Brooklyn Decker And Kate Upton

Written by Ashley Burns / 05.11.12

Model, actress and athlete’s wife Brooklyn Decker was making the promotional rounds for her new film Battleship earlier this week, and she called in to Mason and Remy, a morning show on St. Louis’ 93.7 The Bull. And you would think that it would be pretty simple to come up with some standard cookie cutter questions for Decker – What’s it like being a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model? How do you deal with being a world famous model married to a professional athlete? Is it hard making the transition to acting? Can I have a lock of your hair? – but as Remy proved, it’s really not.

In probably the most awkward interview of a super model this year, Remy asked Decker a series of questions that made no sense, because they were meant for Kate Upton. This clearly does nothing to quash the stereotype that all gorgeous white swimsuit models look alike. But for starters, Decker is 25-years old. Upton is 19. Decker is married and Upton is single. See? Two completely different women.

After the jump, you can listen to the initial interview, as well as Remy’s poetic apology, but I’ve also created the With Leather’s Beginner’s Guide to Not Mixing Up Brooklyn Decker And Kate Upton so that we never have to mention such an egregious error again.

Brooklyn Decker Takes Off Her Clothes For GQ, Would Totally Do Gisele

Written by Brandon Stroud / 04.19.12

Brooklyn Decker has made a smooth transition from model to movie star with her roles as the object of Adam Sandler’s bikini’d affection in Just Go With It and as Lieutenant Commander Whoever in the upcoming blockbuster Battleship, but we’ll always remember her as the wife of tennis star Andy Roddick and as the lady from the cover of the 2010 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Why? Because we’re a sports blog, and if we remember her like that we get to keep writing about her.

It is in that spirit that we present to you Brooklyn’s latest Battleship-promoting photoshoot for GQ. You’d think Brooklyn Decker in wet underwear would be the highlight (and it probably is), but don’t miss out on this paragraph from the interview where she reveals that she’d have sex with Gisele Bündchen.

wha wha whaaat

For instance, there’s her long, spirited defense of Gisele Bündchen for her ungracious post–Super Bowl, mama-grizzly remarks about Tom Brady’s teammates (Bündchen was caught on-camera fuming, “My husband cannot f**king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time”), which Decker wraps up by admitting her Bündchen bias: “I have a top-five list, and Gisele is my number one. So she can do no wrong in my eyes.” Hold on—what kind of list is this, exactly? “Well, everyone has a top-five list of their biggest crushes, you know?” says Decker. “Usually, it’s guys on my list, but Gisele is just so perfect in every way.”

Two videos from the shoot follow, if you read that and your brain didn’t reboot. And be sure to check out the rest of the photos at GQ.

The New York Giants And Kate Upton Won Super Bowl XLVI

Written by Ashley Burns / 02.06.12

By defeating the New England Patriots 21-17 last night in Indianapolis, the New York Giants are the Super Bowl XLVI Champions. *holds for applause* Chances are you watched the game and know that it started off boring, then got really exciting, had some old lady flopping around and later ended with Giants quarterback Eli Manning leading what has become his trademark in a 4th quarter comeback. Manning earned his second Super Bowl MVP and he should headline an offseason of stories not limited to but including:

  • Is Eli better than his brother Peyton Manning now? And many lazy people will say yes because he has two Super Bowl rings.
  • Is the era of Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Patriots over? And the answer is no, because Tom Brady is still a badass.
  • Has Gisele Bundchen’s god forsaken her? Probably.
  • Where is Peyton going to play? Will he end up in Miami? Washington? With the New York Jets? The Toronto Argonauts? And the answer is Miami. It has to happen. I sacrificed way too many virgins to the gods this weekend.

And there will be other news and notes, but they’ll all irresponsibly gloss over the fact that on Saturday, Kate Upton, Chrissy Teigen, Erin Andrews and some other people who claim to be famous played in the sixth annual Celebrity Beach Bowl, and while nobody tried desperately to tear Upton’s shorts off like Tom Arnold did with Marisa Miller last year, she still managed to steal our hearts once again.

Also, Brooklyn Decker was at the GQ/Lacoste Super Bowl party with some guy who plays ping pong or something, so I included them so they don’t feel left out and cry. I’m a sweetheart.

So Long Andy Roddick And Thanks For Only One Day Of Brooklyn Decker

Written by Ashley Burns / 01.20.12

That guy gets it.

Things started off well for Andy Roddick at the Australian Open, as he won his first round match over the Netherlands’ Robin Haase 6-3, 6-4, 6-1. But then America’s most decent men’s tennis player and best guy who married up got a little greedy. Roddick was pulling double duty at the Open, teaming up with Serena Williams for today’s mixed doubles action, and the pressure was just too much for his already injured hamstring.

Yesterday, Roddick retired during the third set of his match against Lleyton Love Hewitt, and thus ends our time with Roddick’s wife, Brooklyn Decker. Blah blah blah, Roddick was upset or something.

“It’s frustrating; it’s discouraging,” Roddick said after the match. “You know, your sensible mind says to have a sense of perspective. You still have it pretty good.

“The competitor in you feels terrible and wants to break stuff.”

(Via the New York Times)

You want to break stuff? The only joy of my Monday mornings after a tennis tournament is looking for pictures of Decker. Now I got nothing, except for that banner pic and some random pictures of her modeling different weird hats earlier this week in Australia. Even worse, I was all set to use my favorite GIF come Monday…

Sports Are Sad Right Now So Here’s The 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar

Written by Ashley Burns / 11.15.11

Thank goodness for the college basketball marathon last night. At some point between 1 and 2 a.m. ET, I passed out for an hour or so, and woke up here and there until I had to get up to resume my big boy day. It made me happy to see actual basketball being played, as opposed to only seeing the faces of my favorite players either from a jam-packed press conference podium as Billy Hunter ineptly tries to explain how he’s a hero to the players or at small venues for charity games that are packed with big spenders.

Unfortunately, it seems like that latter effort will become the norm for the NBA, with the league’s superstars keeping their images and endorsements afloat by hosting charity games, while the mid-level guys try to fight for European roster spots that don’t exist, and the rookies and league minimum players over-extend their credit and dive deeper into the roles of precautionary tales.

Oh, and there’s that whole other thing, too.

Did you ever think that sports news would be so incredibly depressing? Thankfully, the fine folks at Sports Illustrated brought a little sunshine to an otherwise abysmal month with the release of the 2012 SI Swimsuit Calendar. It features our favorite girls, including Brooklyn Decker, Chrissy Teigen, and of course Kate Upton. Also, Genevieve Morton, I would very much like you to meet my mother.
