NAVY, ‘NOLES > CATHOLICS

Written by Matt / 11.04.07

The Lord Almighty is sacked by a child.

Anchors Aweigh my boys! Navy finally broke their long losing streak to Notre Dame by defeating the Fightin' Irish 46-44 in triple overtime in South Bend.

[ND coach Charlie] Weis said the 43-game winning streak had no meaning to him or the team.  "They're worried about here and now. These kids are 17. You think they're worrying about 43 years?" he said.

Of course a 43-game winning streak has no meaning for Weis' lads because they can't even comprehend winning more than 1 game a season.  Who do Irish sailors root for in this game?  That's a trick question, such men must devote all their concentration on remaining erect – they have no time for games.  And you can define 'erect' any way you want.

In other Catholic college football news, Boston College lost to Florida State 27-17, thus ending the Eagles hopes for an undefeated season.  What the heck does Christ do on Saturdays anyway?  I mean, I know he doesn't answer wager-related prayers, but one would think he'd at least help squads representing the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church smite their opponents.  Unless Roman Catholicism is not the one true faith?  Don't tell me I served all those years as an altar boy for nothing. -KD

CRAPPY GAME IMPROVED BY EXCITING FINISH

Written by Matt / 10.26.07

Boston College narrowly avoided this season's curse of being the #2 team in the country, eking out a 14-10 victory over Virginia Tech last night by scoring two touchdowns in the final 2:11 of the game.  On a rainy night in Blacksburg, Heisman candidate Matt Ryan engineered the first scoring drive beginning from his own 9-yard line, then BC converted an onside kick, then the final touchdown drive (video above, courtesy EDSBS) led to much excitement and silly dancing.

Anyway, the Heisman debate continues to tear our country apart, as Ryan's shaky performance all game long (25-for-52, 285 yards, 2 INT) means he's not worthy of the college football's most overhyped future eBay item, while his icy cool performance under fire to get the win means he's more deserving than ever.  Whoop-dee-doo.

In conclusion, Hokies?  More like Chokies LOL!!!1!1!

‘FILTHY’ MESSAGES FORCE COACH TO RESIGN

Written by Matt / 04.25.07

Tom Mutch, the coach of Boston College's excellent women's hockey team, resigned after it was discovered he received sexually explicit text messages from star player Kelli Stack (sexily pictured in action against Harvard), a freshman.  Tom, you dog!

Hockey East Coach of the Year Tom Mutch, 39, who’s married and whose wife just had a baby, abruptly stepped down hours after the Herald began making inquiries to authorities at the Heights.

Sexually graphic text messages that BC hockey star Kelli Stack, 19, allegedly wrote to Mutch were discovered on a cell phone the Hockey East’s Player and Rookie of the Year gave to a teammate, neglecting to delete them first, sources said.

Sheesh, whatever happened to "snitches get stitches"?  Kelli's teammate is a total bitch.

One source familiar with the messages described them as “filthy. They were very sexual in nature.”

Oh really?  "One source"?  I wonder which little whistleblower that could be.  Man, it's getting to be where a married man in his late thirties can't screw college freshmen he's supposed to mentor.  What a shitty world.

BC WOULD PREFER NOT TO PLAY DEFENSE

Written by Matt / 02.22.07

Spring's around the corner, which means it's just about time for me to start caring about college basketball in time for the conference tournaments. With that in mind, here's a good video to spark my interest.

Virginia Tech ran away from Boston College during the second half of last night's 79-62 victory, but it's definitely not the fault of BC's aggressive, suffocating defense:

Oh, and that sick Deron Williams Washington dunk? You can watch it again and again here on YouTube. But is it better than the time he teabagged Greg Paulus? You decide.
