ADAM MORRISON TO MISS SEASON

Written by Matt / 10.22.07

Charlotte Bobcat fans have to be disappointed at the loss of small forward Adam Morrison, the third pick overall in the '06 draft who tore his ACL on Saturday night.  Morrison will miss the entirety of the coming season, and you can bet that his production will be sorely missed.

[Thursday] night, Adam Morrison further proved that he is the worst 6'8" rebounder in the history of the NBA. Adam managed ZERO rebounds, ZERO steals, ZERO blocks, and for good measure, ZERO assists. In 31 minutes of play (he did manage 8 points). So far this preseason, in 5 games, Mr. Morrison is averaging 1.6 rebounds per game. In case you are wondering, Spud Webb averaged 2.1 for his career, and Damon Stoudamire had more rpg last year (and over his career than Morrison).

So, okay, he's not the best defensive weapon.  But he sure can shoot!  And I contend that he's the best diabetic NBA player that I've ever seen.  And he makes Joakim Noah look downright handsome. Don't hate the player, people… hate his complete lack of game.

BASKETBALL WAS PLAYED LAST NIGHT

Written by Matt / 11.16.06

In my excitement to cover useless but delightful gossip today, I kind of skipped over some of the more important sports action from last night. Apparently — and I've just learned this — athletes compete in sporting matches when they're not engaging in sex scandals, breaking the law, or dating famous people. I know: weird, right? Let's take a look at three games, because that's all I have energy for.

Oral Roberts upsets Kansas: I'm guessing that Bill Self is getting less and less popular in Lawrence. I know that this is all sad for NCAA hoops because Oral Roberts was an evil minister, but what I can't get over is the Oral Roberts jerseys, which read ORU. "ORU?" "Damn right I am. Got a problem with that?"

Morrison breaks out against Spurs: Rookie Adam Morrison lifted the struggling Bobcats to an overtime win at mundanely evil San Antonio, scoring a career-high 27.

LeBron has not stopped being good at basketball: Ho-hum. 32-7-7 for King James in a 100-87 win over the Blazers. After the game, Damon Jones (pictured) offered up his thanks to LeBron.
