WARNING: This clip may or may not be of a fatal accident. A commenter on Reddit referred to it as such, but that comment hasn’t been verified, and really all the video shows is the impending terror at the end of a really, really bad idea. It could be an AT&T commercial, because The Internet. So, viewer discretion, just in case.
If you’ve never gone Zorbing, it’s basically getting inside of a giant hamster ball and having people roll you downhill. It’s like the extreme sports equivalent of Beavis and Butthead rolling around in a junkyard tire. It’s harmless, too … unless you’re Zorbing just to the right of a f**king mountain cliffside. That, I guess, is Russian Zorbing.
As you can see, the idea is to roll from point A to point B while your friends tape it and chuckle. Something goes wrong at the bottom, and the guy in the Zorb keeps drifting left, and PLUMMETS DOWN THE MOUNTAIN. I wouldn’t post this if it was a clear-cut video of somebody dying, but: a) if your friend died and you taped it, why would you upload it to YouTube? And b) there’s a pretty dramatic cut between when he initially rolls the wrong way, and when the camera “catches up” and sees him bouncing down.
So who knows? Right now my call is “exaggerated YouTube thing” with nightmare rights reserved. Just … try not to ever go Zorbing, okay?

I call fake. The dude chasing the Zord is running pretty damn fast in the snow.
Although, he could be running as if someone’s life depended on it. I won’t be fully convinced it’s fake until I see Bob Stoops walk up to the Zorbers and say “Hello”, or in this case, “Zdravstvujtye”.
“chasing the *Zord*”
Wait, is this in Russia or Angel Grove?
Is Angel Grove *in* Russia???
Zord…I must’ve been thinking about Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers again. It happens about 15-16 times a day. I once mistakenly called my boss, Zordon. (His name is Robert.)
If only a fake eagle were there to pluck that zorb up off the ground.
+1
My gut says fake – even in Russia I’m betting there would be some form of tall stop fence at the bottom of the run.
Maybe an Iron Curtain.
Well played Roddy.
MrGrey: that my friend is a bet you would lose. There probably wouldn’t be a fence at most Western European resorts either.
I like to think that this is real, and that the two dudes in the ball bounced safely to the bottom of the mountain, where they were promptly struck and killed by a Russian driver and the whole thing was caught on his dash cam.
If you go zorbing in Russia…You’re gonna have a bad time.
They should have Pizza’d when they French Fried.
KNEEL BEFORE ZORB!!
I think the dramatic cut is actually just someone else taping that they edited together because they had a different vantage point.
I’ve seen this elsewhere, confirmed that one guy died, other hurt.
“Never go zorbing” at an unsafe site. There are a few safe operators out there, but the rip off merchants like these ones tragically don’t comply with the safety rules. Relying on a person to push one of these back on track is ridiculously stupid.
