WWE.com has learned that Mr. McMahon will be at tonight’s Raw in Sacramento, Calif., to deliver a State of WWE Address. What will The Chairman have to say? Will he address the performance of Raw General Manager AJ Lee? Could her job be in jeopardy?
In addition to addressing the current state of affairs within WWE, does Mr. McMahon have anything to say regarding its future? Could The Chairman have a message directly from WWE’s Board of Directors?

Tonight’s five point preview:
1. Now that Brodus Clay has been beaten cleanly in one minute, will he move the hell on with his life, or will he just show up to splash JTG and dance with a bunch of kids like nothing ever happened?
2. What will happen in the tag team tournament? Will Rhodes Scholar face Team Hell No for the WWE Tag Team Championships? More importantly, can we put together a bunch of tag teams based solely on how their names would fit together? Suggestions: Tyson Kidd and Ryback (Tieback), Heath Slater and Seth Rollins (Rollins Band), Percy Watson and Triple H (Percy Sledge).
3. Spoiler alert: the next clue in the Kaitlyn murder assault mystery is, “she was wearing clothes”.
4. Will Ryback be able to effortlessly lift his next opponent, assuming they are those 110 pound guys he fought for months?
5. Who will be the new Raw general manager, and who do I have to blow around here to make it John Laurinaitis?

I’m sorry, but fuck Punk for that. There was nothing going on that was that much more intense than when any other superstar runs into the crowd, and I don’t care if he was getting slapped in the back of the head, you don’t around wallop them twice in the face. Zero fucks will be given by me if he loses the title at HIAC because of that.
If I was being pushed and shoved around like that, I’d be getting gradually more aggravated. That guy was the unfortunate one who hassled Punk when he’d finally snapped.
I don’t believe that excuses it. Nobody defended Jericho after he punched that woman in the face, so why should Punk be defended? If anything it’s worse in more scrutinizing in Punk’s case because he was in an environment where harassment is expected, where as Jericho was in a public place, where that shit wasn’t necessary.
Harassment from fans is expected, yes. But being physically assaulted (yes, even a simple push is ‘physical assault’) by fans is still not allowed. Punk turned around and said something probably along the lines of “knock that shit off” and then he got pushed / hit / whatever again. You can see the dude’s hand come down and hit Punk on the back of the head. At that point I’m pretty sure Punk is well within his right to retaliate.
Just saw on twitter a site that found tweets from the guy admitted he was fucking with Punk. Dude was hitting him in the kidneys and was trying to slap him as hard as he could. To be fair, it sounds like Punk tried to ignore it as long as he could before he turned around to deck the guy. Unfortunately for Punk, he got the wrong one.
It doesn’t excuse it, but I would have a hard time myself not turning around and decking someone who was going out of their way to hit me as hard as they could in a crowd. Fuck fans like that. I hope that dude gets banned for life.

Hey, I missed all the action from last night, so let me get this straight: CM Punk slapped Tim Tebow?
There’s a lot of chatter on here, and other wrestling sites, about this incident costing Punk his title (and maybe more) but one thing the WWE has always been reasonably good at it is turning adversity to their favour. Honestly, if I were Vince or Triple H or whoever else is calling the shots I’d use this to play up Punk’s “heel” heat. Yeah, you don’t mess with CM Punk because he’s vicious and he will shoot punch you in the face, even if you’re a fan.
Deadspin had a good update this morning. shows a 2nd fan video where Punk is repeatedly pushed by several fans. Also shows a guy with white shirt (behind the dude that got clocked) is the one who pushed Punk in the back of the head. Kind of reminds me of when Artest went ballistic on the guy who he thought threw the cup on him.
Seems like the Punk business from last night might get a little hotter today.
From a wrestling fan perspective, I’d be much less afraid of where this goes if it happened a month from now. Like, November 7th.

Being up here in Toronto with the show on delay, there was an awkward transition that made it seem like a fight happened near where Punk was in the crowd but there was no indication (or visual evidence) that Punk actually hit a fan.
Also, I should mention, I have no problem with wrestlers punching out over-zealous fans.
All I ask is one time a ref disqualify Sheamus when he’s doing his Holy Hand Grenade or whatever it is we’re calling his 10 punches in the ropes nowadays.

The story is a mess right now, so I’m not going to worry about it. I thought the ending was kinda fun. And shit, Vince was pretty damn entertaining.
Alright, I’m out, good to hang with y’all tonight. RAW was better than last week, but still kinda meh at times. I like the idea of Vince being scared shitless by USA laying the law down, though, so maybe there’s hope for us creatively. No more coasting.
My guess is Punk picks Cena because he figures he might as well avoid Ryback and pick the “injured” guy……..and Punk loses
That entire ending works so much better if Cena just beats the tar out of Vince for 10 minutes before Ryback and Cena comes out… Instead, the WWE just buried their champion.

So Vince showed up and nothing happened with AJ, that’s disappointing.
So ryback attacks cena in the cell, punk pins cena, neither ryback or cena lose cleanly. punk retains. thats what’s gonna happen right?
overall I’d say it was a pretty good raw. (at least the 90 minutes i was able to watch)

I reviewed it on my DVR and it looks like the guy is putting on sunglasses and Punk backhands him and then shoves him in the face. Then security comes up there and is talking to him, but the guy doesn’t seem to know what he did. I’m guessing Punk got nudged or something by accident and freaked out thinking it was something more sinister.
