WWE SummerSlam 2012 airs live on pay-per-view this Sunday night, August 19, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Like most wwe ppvs, if you look past the politics of the main event scene, this was a pretty good ppv
The heel gets a clean finish. The face attacks, unprovoked, after the decision. WWE, 2012.
Although Masked Man’s Grantland Summerslam preview made me realize… it might have been like this all along.

This was the first WWE PPV (or Raw) I’ve watched without the Open Thread in quite a while. It felt weird without you guys. I thought of something really funny during the Mysterio match and there was no one to +1 me. If a Lester snarks and no one is there to +1, has he made a funny?

I have a bad feeling about WM 29. Rock over Punk at RR. Cena enters #1 and eliminates every single wrestler. HHH has internal crisis (since he hasn’t won a match in two years), and will retire at next loss, Flair-style. Leads to Undertaker putting him out of his misery at WM. Which leads to me, after spending tons of cash to take my 11 year old, repeatedly punching myself in the temple.

Being vaguely disappointed yet having no specific complaints. WWE in 2012, ladies and gentlemen!
I’d like to imagine HHH and HBK sitting in rocking chairs on their porch with matching casts, drinking iced tea, and reminiscing about the good old days of the attitude era that they failed miserably at trying to recreate.
I’m pre-sick to my stomach for the “Thank you, Hunter” chants we are going to hear on Raw tomorrow.

The one disappointing aspect of Triple H’s walk of shame being hilariously, hilarious booed is that it means we are going to keep getting “final” matches until he gets to get his proper tearful goodbye.
I guess HHH and HBK are resigned to Dutch Rudders only for a few months.

I thought Summerslam was surprisingly solid. I’ll give it up a thumbs up.
You know I enjoyed it too. But I’m not sure if that’s just because I was happy with the results generally. Feel like the matches were pretty so-so but I enjoyed myself at least. Thumbs up.
