On Friday, I wrote a piece for Progressive Boink ranking the 15 worst fighters in the 1988 film Bloodsport. After watching this video, seeing someone get knocked out by an exaggerated movie spin kick and watching 17 seconds of utter MMA futility, I might have to go back and add Keegan Hornstra to the list.
The fight starts around the 4:30 mark and is over two kicks later, so don’t blink. Bruce Boyington has more difficulty with the cage than with Keegan Hornstra.
Here’s to hoping the fans who paid to get into NEF Fight Night 3 found something fun to do with the rest of their night. Not a lot to do in Lewiston, Maine. Catch seafood in wire crates, watch guys get spin-kicked to death … yeah, I’m spent.

Sadly, that was easily the best part of last nights RAW.
That was an amazing roundhouse. Period.
I would be more impressed if Keegan had previously thrown a powder into Bruce’s eyes.
That was by far the best fight of the night- here’s an idea – climb into the cage with Bruce and see how much “difficulty ” he has then.
Throwing spinning shit (That connects!) is a quick way to endear me to a Mixed Martial Artist.
Also, Brandon, I didn’t want to create an account just to post on the other site where you Bloodsport article is but, man, your article was funny as fuck. This part, in particular, made me laugh so hard I started to cry:

I’m dissappointed someone would try and take away from the difficulty of this spinning hook kick especially in an MMA fight let alone a Tae Kwon Do match. I was at this fight and would have paid triple the cost to see that fight live! This is the type of K.O. people want to see, there is a reason they are calling it knock out of the year. Hornstra deffinately should of researched Bruce a lil better before agreeing to that fight… Im pretty sure everybody got their moneys worth for these fights. Don’t take anything away from these fighters up here in maine, they train hard and put on some great fights! Look for more from Bruce Boyington this was only his 5th pro MMA fight, I garruntee much more highlights to come I’ve been watching him fight now for most of our lifes. Great job Bruce keep up the good work!
KO of the year? I’d consider Barboza’s wheel kick over this one, though a lot of that is the hilarious way Terry Etim fell over.
I must say, Barboza’s kick was not better. All he did was stood there and throw an offensive spinning wheel kick that landed on an opponent sitting still. Boyington not only set up his KO Spinning hook kick with the spinning back kick first but he had to gauge distance and timing to land it perfectly on an opponent coming at him with a kick of himself. I hardly see a case for argument there
