WWE No Way Out airs on pay-per-view this Sunday night, starting with a YouTube exclusive pre-show match and beginning formally at 8 PM EST. With Leather and the funniest wrestling fans on the Internet will be keeping you up to date with what’s happening, what jokes to make on Twitter and claim as your own and which person in the Intercontinental Championship match is most challenging to heterosexuality (spoiler alert: Cody Rhodes).
The show is headlined by a steel cage match between John Cena and the Big Show, wherein if Big Show loses, Executive Vice President Of Talent Relations And General Manager Of Both Raw And Smackdown John Laurinaitis will be fired. However, if Big Show wins, John Cena will be fired. Oh, there are also two heavyweight championship matches happening on the show but those are way less important.
Full card is below:
- Pre-show Match: “Funkasaurus” Brodus Clay vs. Santino Marella
- Tuxedo Match: United States Champion Santino Marella vs. Ricardo Rodriguez
- Divas Championship Match: Layla (c) vs. Beth Phoenix
- Intercontinental Championship Match: Christian (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
- Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan
- World Heavyweight Championship Match: Sheamus (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
- Steel Cage Match: John Cena vs. Big Show. If Big Show loses, John Laurinaitis will be fired. If John Cena loses, he will be fired.

Hopefully, Big Johnny was paying attention the last time Cena got fired, and will just show up to work tonight under a mask as “Juan Laurinaitis”, and everyone will have no choice to pretend they don’t know who it is.
+1 – good form
Does the firing of Big Johnny mean we’ll get four backstage segments where Teddy Long is just horse-whipping Eve with his “comically” large name tag?
Will Big Show finally see the error of his ways? Will Big Johnny ever recover from the dual devastation of being Farrrred and Attitudanly Adjusted? Will Vince ever get a pair of pants without a load in them so he can walk normally? Tune in next time to find out. (batman theme)
And of course…
omg AJ is sooo hawt!
And I woul like to point out, that as awesome as MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, MILLIONS OF DOLLARS is…
Titus O’Niel is really bad in the ring. And John Cena Negro isn’t that much better.
That’s why I love the rarity of guys that are awesome getting awesome gimmicks, aka, Damien Sandow.
You’re Welcome.
I’m pretty sure Raw is only going to 3 hours so they have more time for TAG TEAM MATCHES, THIS BUSINESS!! and Poop Jokes…
I really can not comprehend the ending of that Cage match.
The best part is things like The Nexus’ 7 on 1 attacks, and how my younger brother would react to them (“They suck because they have to use a numbers advantage!”)
And then he cheers things like Cena (and 5 other dudes) teaming up to beat one guy…
Ryback, Sin Cara & Clay. Just the people we want to see every goddamn PPV doing the exact same shit. Thanks WWE.
Is it me or are all we doing is building up to the Ryback/Funkasaurus Royal Rumble Staredown?
If that’s what we’re doing, El Tigre, then I’m ok with all of this.
My guess is that they want to get those characters known; not everyone watches Raw each week, or only watches parts of the episode. PPVs are a good way to get the characters out there so people will watch them (and get them on dvds so people remember them or at least go “huh, I think I remember that dude” as they fastforward).
AW & The PrimeTime Playas… just add Mark Henry, Kingston, Truth & Percy Watson & we have a New Nation Of Domination. Ok, maybe not Percy Watson.
My NOD 2012 Stable consisted of:
Kingston, R-Truth, Mark Henry, Ezekial Jackson, and Sheamus.
Gatta have the token White NOD member, and no one’s whiter than the GREAT white… Right?
John Cena never gave up … with the help of Brodus Clay, Santino, Ryder, Kofi Kingston & Alex Riley.
I hope Big Show comes out tonight with a Rise Above Hate t-shirt on..
My dad decided to drink…he had fun. He was an ass. But he had fun.
Solid ppv!
YES!
What are the odds that Monday we find out that AJ’s name is really AJ Vick? Katie’s young sister… dun dun dun!!
Why does everyone keep demanding that Punk has had the title too long and needs to drop it? Do we really need to go back to having a new Champ every month and ridiculousness like 10 or 12 time Champs being born because of back and forth bullsh*t? The title means more when people aren’t losing it left and right
Title means more when the face is chasing it, too. There’s no tension, not to mention it’s not a lot of fun to cheer for the frontrunner.
Yea, he has had it 7 months and people are bitching. Some people just like to complain.
I’m not against someone holding the title for a long time in theory, but in reality it tends to affect the character after awhile and s/he gets stale. Punk has definitely gotten stale (and in a bad way) and I’m hoping that dropping the title will give him (and Creative) a chance to reinvigorate the character.
True, but soon he’ll have had it for over 210 days, putting him in 4th place for holding the title for the longest period of time in the past 15 years. I don’t want to see title changes every month, but I would like to see Bryan get the belt eventually. I’ve seen Punk with the belt, and it’s not as interesting as him chasing it. I prefer him as the underdog, not as the big man on campus. WWE’s also put less emphasis on the belt by moving it to the 10 o’clock slot and never letting it have the final match in the past five ppvs.
Everything chudley said.
Gotta go to bed in a minute, but here’s a quick run down:
THESTINGER liked almost all of the matches. THESTINGER thought Dolph / Sheamus, Christian / Cody, Tag Teamz, Ryback, and all the other matches had merit and were good to great. THESTINGER hated the ending to each and every fucking match, which hurts. THESTINGER doesn’t want to keep saying, “CM Punk fucking sucks and any of you that still cheer for him are fucking Jeff Hardy fans so quit it” but holy shit if Punk wasn’t the worst part of that triple threat tonight. THESTINGER isn’t even talking character, but just ‘rasslin.
Also, THESTINGER missed chatting with you people but it is fun to hang with With Leather Daddies in real lifez so THESTINGER is torn. THESTINGER has infinite love to give but not infinite time.
DONT TALK ABOUT BRODUS I AM SHAMED
*DOES HARDY FINGER GUNS IN RESPONSE*
WHY BRODUS WHY. YOU ARE TAINTED WITH HONKY JUICE FROM BAAAWWSTON. Now the Rock’s gonna come back and call you fat *sniff*, and he’s gonna call yuour momma and say you’re fat,a nd everyone’s gonna cheer because inane diatribes never go wrong. WHYYYYY
Just finished watching the stream. Glad I didn’t pay for the show, even though Ziggler/Sheamus and Rhodes/Christian were great. Tag team match was good, with a decent swerve. Punk/Kane/Bryan was great in spots, but dragged a ton when Kane was involved. I honestly didn’t know which ending they would go with, because Cena being fired wouldn’t have stuck anyway. But the last match was a bleh way to end a show.
Also – Larvard Haw grads! It’s the post mrestigous school in the country! Situated in beautiful Bownton Doston, this school guarantees you an amazing calling card for the lest of your rife. Larvard Haw. Degrees in malapropism available today!
Things I learned today: much like my Father, Jerry Lawler has selective hearing.
+Rhodes! (Rhodes factorial, where Rhodes = infinite number)
Funkasaurus just crossed his way out of my heart. I don’t believe in nothing anymore, I’m going to Law School!
I remember back when the most important thing was the WWF Championship.
No matter what bullshit they had going on, no matter who DIDN’T hold the title, the title match was always the last match, the most important match.
Now, they have it so title matches take a backseat to John Cena… unless it involves John Cena for the title/holding the title.
Look at the last 4 PPV’s. Cena was the last match with Kane, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, and John Laurinaitis. Now it’s a FIFTH PPV headlined by no other than Cena vs. Big Show.
Can you imagine having the World Heavyweight Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Eddie Guerrero coming second to some weird Kurt Angle match? Or how about Austin vs. Rock at Wrestlemania 17 taking a backseat to Triple H vs. Undertaker?
I’m starting to lose faith in the WWE. The titles should be the most important thing ever. Vince, we don’t like Cena. Not because he’s stale. Not because he does the same moves over and over again. Not because he always wins. But because you’re shoving him down our throat Raw after Raw, PPV after PPV.
I’m sick of this shit.
You’re losing a life long fan here.
RESSSSST IN PEEEAUUUUUHHHAAAUHHHHHCE.
you didn’t get the memo that the most important title is now the John Cena Championship for being John Cena.
I’m not sure why your guys are hating on the Triple Threat match so much. Besides D-Bryan getting knocked out and disappearing at the end of the match (to be fair he was GTS’d by Punk and then knocked into the wall by Kane) and the bit of confusion with AJ, I felt it was a very good match. Even with Kane in it, who I thought would drag the whole thing down.
I didn’t hate the triple threat. It was more entertaining than that cage match, IMO. I am a bit let down by the ending. It was kind of anti- climactic but we’re at least set up for another Punk/Bryan match
The match was good except…
1. AJ’s role wasn’t the cool swerve for which I’d hoped, but instead more of a bumbling finish.
2. Punk held onto the belt. Seriously, someone else needs it for awhile.
So what now, Big Show? WHAT NOW?
Did Vince go YERRRRRRR FIRED? Because if so then we can’t really complain about the PPV.
YES! YES! YES ! YES!
Just look on the bright side, at least we got a sweet looking poster out of this supercalicrapilisticexpialibullshitty PPV.
A sweet poster. See? It’s not all that supercalicrapilisticexpialibullshitty.
Got to try to work that word into my everyday vocabulary.
Now, the question is that with such a piss poor outing tonight and fans seeing a good PPV with great matches in Slammiversary, and a solid Impact this past week with people talking about it, will it change some minds about dumping another $55 into the next WWE PPV.
Sad part is, too many of us wrestling fans are heavy loyalists and wont give TNA or WWE a shot because of being loyal to the one you like. Sadly, something tells me that WWE won’t care because “we still get our PPV buyrates and the idiot fans will turn in and watch us anyway”.
Well, we can rule out this guy being Scott Steiner
This wasn’t good, but TNA is also not good.
Slammaversary was actually pretty decent. I’m just waiting for Chikara to hit up Milwaukee in August… Mmmmmm, can’t wait.
TNA’s been pretty good lately actually. Most people who hate on TNA haven’t seen a TNA show since 2009.
Indeed Sebastian, TNA has been picking up steam with Roode being an interesting champ, Storm being set up to be the big face of the company, name guys having good matches in the undercard, and Austin Aries being awesome. Also, Hogan kind of stepping out of the way a bit. Hopefully they don’t fuck it up like they always do.
Brodus was about to become his own man. And then he became Cena’s buddy. Funk you, Brodus. Funk you right in your funky ass.
HE WAS SO CLOSE TO BEING AWESOME PEOPLE
AND NOW HES SHIT
I’m sorry. I got home late, and all I saw made me want to cry. I’m gonna go eat a cheesy panini at AJ’s Applebees and go to bed.
I didn’t mind Brodus coming down to hurt Show, as that made sense.
But hugging Cena? That was too much.
*SOB*
Im wiping boogers off my keyboard I’m so sad. This is the end of my beloved Brodus.
Who the hell rolled a one?
The strangest part of tonight’s show, if you stopped it after the dumb AJ run in thing it was actually a pretty good, though meaningless show
Dumb run in? I think it’s going to lead to more story.
Can see someone writing JERN/Brodus Slash Fan Fiction right now.
i think the Board of Directors is gonna come through again and allow Lesnar and Big Johnny back if Lesnar drops the lawsuits…..its logic guys
Remember when you used to watch wrestling, and the good guys had actual obstacles to overcome?
I miss those days…
I was saying something like this all night. It’s not good storytelling (or fun) when the good guy wins ALL THE FUCKING TIME.
Hopefully Otunga will represent Johnny during his upcoming “Wrongful Termination” lawsuit
This, I hope so much this.
He’s never lost a case.
How about suing the f**k out of Cena for assaulting a non-employee of WWE when he threw him through a table?
Please welcome Executive Special Advisor to the Board Mr. John Laurinaitis
And don’t worry guys. Big Johnny will be back to regain his spot atop the mountain with Bork Lazer. I pinky swear.
Today the funk died . . . . and it was all because of that great big fruity pebble in the sky.
I, uh, actually enjoyed the show tonight. It wasn’t great, but I was entertained. Sorry, guys.
So was I, actually. I mean, it wasn’t amazing, but I had a good time.
I had a good time for much of it, but I think it was mostly due to being here.
If I weren’t under the influence of the Stroudmouths, I don’t think I’d have enjoyed it as much.
Yeah, I think a lot of people are trying to get on the bandwagon of “Punk sucks now,” when the triple threat was pretty good, even with the Duthtyan run-in at the end.
I’m glad that Brodus now has more of a point. I hope they have him and show at Summerslam.
+1s for optimism!
I think we’re the only ones.
(hipsters)
I liked most of the matches, just not a huge fan of the outcomes.
I enjoyed the most of the matches but the storytelling was garbage.
yea I thought the ppv was ok
WHY DID YOU FUCKING HUG CENA BRODUS NOW I NEED LASER TATTOO REMOVAL ON MY FOREHEAD YOU SONUVABITCH
Krustyburgaler=my WWE fandom. Homer as Krusty=This PPV.
stop! stop! he’s already dead!
The subtle beauty of Ricardo’s entrance tonight: practicing kicking and punching at the ramp as if he were cramming for an exam and as if that was the only advice that Alberto could give him before his tuxedo match.
They threw liquid nitrogen over that hot crowd.
What happened at No Way Out, I think I slept for 24 hours and just caught Raw – because that’s the only way this booking makes sense.
RIP Librarian Eve
RIP Otunga’s Thermos
He should have a black one for mourning.
Also, I forgot that the loss of Johnny means we probably also lose Otunga and a version of Eve I actually like. Now I’m even more disappointed.
I’m expecting tag team teddy to be appointed
John Laurinaitis Raw GM (2011-2012):
Atleast Titus O’Neil and Darren Young won.
Bad PPV. Some good matches, though… I enjoyed Sheamus/Ziggler and Cody/Christian quite a bit. Something just seemed off, though.
Regal for GM or I fucking quit
When is Brandon going to distribute the cyanide capsules? I’d like two if possible.
I’m going to take my sweet sweet cyanide in the form of a travel thermos of kool-aid.
Lester goin’ the Jonestown route!
He took them all. He didn’t want to leave any chance of surviving.
You know, it wasn’t that bad. I came in halfway through and while no one came and served me ice cream, the Triple Threat match worked really hard there and I have a new found respect for Hunico. Beth Phoenix was cool, HHH isn’t take fifteen minutes. The tag match had some substance to it. Not exactly five stars but this would have been a pretty good Raw.
