When the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos failed to reach an agreement on a trade for Kyle Orton, two things happened: 1) Chad Henne fell ass backwards into another year as the de facto starter for Miami, and B) Tim Tebow possibly lost his job as the starter in Denver. Thankfully, both professional athletes have responded to their respective situations like men. And I’m just kidding, because they’re both big babies.
Some fans at a recent Dolphins practice began chanting, “We want Orton” when Henne took the field, and the guy who is allergic to throwing to Brandon Marshall didn’t like that very much.
“Deep down inside, it does hurt,” Henne said of the “We want Orton!” chants. “Obviously you want the respect of the fans and you want them to have your back. If you’re a Miami Dolphins fan, hopefully you’re cheering for the Miami Dolphins and the players out there, not somebody that’s not here.” (CBS Sports)
First of all, take my word as a Miami Dolphins fan – we suck. We’re complete dicks, and we bitch and piss and moan about everything. We learned it from New York Jets fans. But as far as it hurting? Man up, Sally. You think the fans are going to lay off because you say it hurts? Maybe try this new thing called getting better. It starts with confidence and it ends with victories, something Miami fans are growing tired of not having.
As for Tebow, we already know what Merril Hoge thinks, and he’s probably not alone, but Broncos fans don’t want to hear that because they’ve been drinking the same Kool-Aid that Gainesville has been brewing for the past 6 years. The fact remains that Orton is a proven starter, and the job is probably his when Week 1 begins. So did Tebow tip his cap to the veteran in front of him and vow to learn from him and earn his starting role like all good QBs do? No. He bitched about it.
“My dream, since I was a young boy, of being a starting quarterback in the NFL seemed to be coming true,” Tebow said. “Then, I felt like it was grabbed back away. . .”
“I’m trying to insulate myself from what people in the media are saying, but I’ve seen some of it, and it hurts because it’s coming from people who haven’t seen me practice, haven’t seen me play, haven’t seen what I can do. I did an interview the other day with someone on the NFL Network who said last year I’d never play a down in the NFL. He was wrong,” Tebow said. (Pro Football Talk)
I don’t really have a problem with Tebow, aside from him being a Gator, as much as I have a problem with his and all of his fans’ belief that it’s Tebow against the world. Of course people in the media are going to say bad things about him. They have to, it’s their job. But it’s also a quarterback’s job to lead by example, and crying about having a job that wasn’t necessarily his, because Orton was never not a Bronco, isn’t good leadership. Unless he’s a politician.

Chad Henne is a joke. A mother F****** joke.

Tebow is a p*ssy, plain and simple. Always has been, always will be.
Being from Jacksonville I would just like to say Tebow can suck it. FUCK THE GAYTORS. GO JAGUARS
Orton is a proven starter with a 3-10 record last year….he plays not to lose…not a champion
So Tebow deserves to start because of that? I’d say he deserves to compete.
Tebow is praying for your and Hodge’s blasphemous souls Burnsy
Forget about Henne the dude is a pud, hang your hat on Marino and all his rings
Orton is a bitch. Yes he practices well when there’s no real chance of large Negros taking out 400 years of frustration on his puckered butthole, but if the Broncos are down by 3 with 2 minutes to go and Bart Scott makes eye contact with Kyle what’s more likely:
a) Kyle starts to cry
b) Kyle starts his 911 call with “Look I’m not a racist, but there’s this big black guy…”
c) Kyle throws a touchdown pass
correct way to hand situation:
Christian Ponder-
“Excited to have McNabb join. Will learn a lot from a Pro Bowler. But that doesn’t mean I’m not still fighting to start week 1!”
skol
There was a time when Henne didn’t do checkdowns galore. I can’t stop laughing my ass off at his failures since 2004.
I don’t have a problem with what Henne said. The man is human, and when you hear your own fans chanting for another QB to come save them, it’s gonna bother you a bit.
He wasn’t whining. I don’t even think he was upset. He just told the truth, which is that it DOES hurt to hear that. He’s human, it’s how any of us would feel.
Now Tebow on the other hand…. I’m a Gator, so it pains me to say this, but his comments were silly.
Look Tim, I get that you’re frustrated, but nothing was grabbed away from you. You lost the job because Orton is still better. You need to stop bitching and really work so you can TAKE that job back.
Here in Denver there is a growing Tebow cult (not really Bronco fans) that put him above the team and cannot see his weeknesses, think he walks on Gatoraide, and the Jesus women are creaming their granny panties for him. It is pretty obvious from the practices that Quinn is a much better QB, let alone Orton. The guys on the team and the coaches are all behind Orton.
@LJ; I watched every snap he took and he got the shit beat out of him and never bitched. It is fairly easy to question someone’s toughness from your mom’s basement, but you are entitled to it.
It’s clear that Orton should be a punter.
but Broncos fans don’t want to hear that because they’ve been drinking the same Kool-Aid that Gainesville has been brewing for the past 6 years

With a side order of two National Championships.
“Orton is a proven starter”
And Tebow outplayed him last year and earned the starting job, on the field with his play.
The quote about it being grabbed back was from Woody Paige, notorious douchebag and hack, I would bet that it was out of context. Tebow is nothing if not a competitor, so I take his history against Paige’s hackery.
