In a story that threatens to destroy Twitter, former Chicago Bulls second banana legend Scottie Pippen went on ESPN’s Mike and Mike (and mike) in the Morning this morning and said, and I quote (because I don’t want to type it myself):
“Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to ever play in the game. But I may go as far to say Lebron James may be the the greatest player to ever play the game.”
To put this into perspective, imagine if John Stockton went on The Today Show and said Karl Malone was okay, he guesses, but he wishes he could’ve passed the ball to Tom Chambers more often. Imagine if Chico Marx could somehow communicate from the grave about how much funnier Jeff Foxworthy is than Groucho. Imagine if Laurel said f**k Hardy and teamed up with Costello. This is the situation Scottie Pippen has put us in. And that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of how full of a horse’s sh:t he is, or how angry Kobe Bryant should be about being the B.J. Armstrong in Pippen’s comparison.
I’m no basketball analyst, and living in Cleveland for four years turned me into exactly the kind of LeBron James fan you’d expect, so I’m not going to pretend to invalidate Pippen’s opinion. If he thinks Zydrunas Ilgauskas could lay up a mudhole in Kareen Abdul-Jabbar, so be it. But come on, man, saying LeBron is better than Jordan? LeBron isn’t even the best player on his team. What’s next, Benedict Arnold looks like he could end up being a pretty great leader?

An interesting statement by Scottie Pippen. And you are right, he’s entitled to his opinion. But in my opinion he’s off base. Michael Jordan won championships because he made his teammates better. Michael Jordan won championships with teams like the one Lebron left in Cleveland, not with the one he has in Miami. Here’s a question for those who believe Scottie helped Michael win championships (and he did), but would Scottie be recognized as one of the greatest if he didn’t play with Michael?

I am no Pro NBA player and Lebron James is very good and he is aworking on being a great player. Michael Jordon coming from North Carolina didn’t look like a 6 time NBA champion a prolific scorer, and A1 Ad Man, and he made people forget how great Oscar Robertson, Jerry West and Julius Erving were. Michael Jordan is the greatest NBA player right now, Lebron James has some work to do first.

Listen up folks..Lefraud had to join a team that had a top 3 player in the league (Wade) and then a top 5 power forward in the league (Bosh) as well. I’ve been around for awhile and know a thing about or 2 about this declining game of basketball. Back when MJ was playing you could hand check players and play a lot more physical where as now a flagrant foul called in today’s game would be a no-call back then or just a regular foul..the NBA had to make it easier for players to score and succeed in the league..LeFraud probably has the highest sales retail wise in the league so if he doesn’t continue to do well then sales go down and Mr.Stern doesn’t want that..but the league has gone wrong, i mean..i can’t even watch 5 minutes straight of a game without a foul being called..bottom line tho..MJ is the greatest of all time and forever..good day
