Umpire arguments are each timeless classics in their own way, and this next video featuring minor league manager Wally Backman is no exception. The South Georgia Peanuts skipper takes umbrage with a home run call in this undated video (“THAT AIN’T EVEN F*CKING CLOSE!”) and the umpire wastes no time in throwing Backman out of the game. Backman would later claim that the ball was “legitimately…probably ten feet foul.” But the argument was legitimately probably awesome.

little redneck
Once the Mets decide to fire their current manager they need to hire Backman asap.
The video has to be from 2007, because the South Coast League only had one season. How do I know this? I was there, my friends. Wearing a Peanuts shirt in Albany Georgia, I was there…
@The Wumpus, that must be why Brandon hasn’t written a post on the mascots from that league.
Yup, 2007. But the uncensored video was only uploaded last night. The Mets weren’t too keen on having Wally’s uncensored awesomeness on the web over the past few years. Unfortunately for them, I don’t care anymore.
That is false I have seen this video uncensored 50 times even while he was being considered for the job.
@ Finger, this not the Andersen ejection, it takes place in Macon. just check out youtube, the other video is still there. I have been watching these for several years, this is new.
and fantastic! Wally is the best
@ Finger – False? Come on. I’m the guy that made the TV show. I’m the guy that uploaded the video last night. Ed Chu is correct.
so many clutch hits in RBI…..
For the most part umpires are F#*king morons
Wally is the best! I remember when he p***ed off Strawberry one season by questioning his effort and the Straw promised to “punch out the little redneck.” He’s managing Binghamton NY at AAA this year, I believe. The Mets need his intensity.
