In Sunday’s game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals, sh-t went down when notorious asshat Matt Cooke stuck out his knee to flip Alex Ovechkin onto his face. Immediately, play stopped, and a giant group hug immediately occurred in Pittsburgh’s zone. I’m pretty sure all the players just wanted to tell the other team how they were doing such a great job and putting in so much effort. Who says the NHL isn’t welcoming and accessible?
Video after the jump.
This season, especially after the HBO series leading up to the Winter Classic between the two teams, Pittsburgh and Washington have been really intense in their games. That series was so good, it made Sidney Crosby not look like a jackass! Cooke still was, however.
I don’t really feel bad for Ovechkin, who has been known to have some dirty hits of his own. Either way, however, Cooke will probably be facing some kind of fine or suspension. There’s always the chance, however, that Gary Bettman does nothing but sit on his hands. He really loves those “strangers.”
The only dirty hits I’ve had are on that mixtape interspersed with sounds of me masturbating I made your mom. I know musicians call that talking between songs skits, but I call them “skeets.”

Dirty hit? Yes. Will he be suspended or fined? No. Did Ovie deserve to be hit that way? Yes. He had thrown hits exactly like that a few different times. None of them were an attempt to injure (neither was Cooke’s, he led with his shoulder) but all of them were reckless (as was Cooke’s).
Do I like interviewing myself? Yes.
That wasn’t particularly egregious and was more of trip than a knee. I’d say, 2 minutes pretty much settles it, and that you probably just started watching hockey in the last year or two. Maybe you should stick to a topic you know better, like ladies golf.
So he didn’t stick his knee out? I was thinking there would be a fine coming to Cooke due to the fact that it happened to Ovechkin, and it wasn’t clean. There’s no result but injury to someone coming from what Cooke did.
As a Caps fan and Pittsburgh hater, I’d like to knock Cooke’s teeth out (oh…nevermind). But not for that hit on Ovechkin in particular, but because Cooke is generally a scumbag. And yeah, Ovie’s done the same thing because he flies around, and not always under control. But with a lowlife like Cooke, it’s assumed it was at least partially intentional.
Caps fans are just pissed that the Pens do everything better—win Cups, not look like dildos on TV shows, and attempt to injure star players. The only thing the Caps are great at is not quite being great.
I thought I was going to read an article on dirty hits, or more than likely a biased opinion on Matt Cooke’s TRIP of Ovechkin. WOW. A flight of ideas is a symptom of mental illness not limited to retardation and schizophrenia. From throwing up about Sidney Crosby, to masterbating with your mom, and using pre twenties terminology for a quick laugh though irrelative to the subject. I thought it said something about Matt Cooke? When you write something besides scattered thoughts for your high school news paper; please post it for we sports fans.
