David Brown of Yahoo! Sports did an interview with Luke Scott of the Baltimore Orioles. In short, Luke is a big ol’ hick blah blah blah he doesn’t believe that Barack Obama was born in America. Here’s the money quote from Scott:
[Obama] was not born here. That’s my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go — within 10 minutes — to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, “See? Look! Here it is. Here it is.” The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn’t answer anything. And why? Because he’s hiding something.
You know what? People who have bad intentions, people that are deceivers or are not of honor and integrity — that’s how they act. I’ve seen it in every — it doesn’t matter what level. It can be in politics, it can be in business, it can be in sports, it can be in the construction field. Doesn’t matter. It’s all the same attitude. It’s the same thing.
The research on Obama’s birth certificate has been well-documented, as Brown notes. I’ll bite my tongue when it comes to Obama around here (I don’t expect those of you in the comments to show the same restraint), but people will believe what they want to believe. Phil Raintree and I had a debate the other day about who the stupidest athletes, as a class, were. I argued baseball, because in the NBA and NFL you at least have to go to a college campus, whereas in the MLB and Hockey you can just dedicate your life solely to that sport from a much younger age. Between Juniors and the Minors, those guys aren’t doing much.

When Bush left office, the economy was cratering, budget deficits were huge, and unemployment was at levels not seen in 20+ years. That is a fact.
The housing/banking crisis was caused by unregulated bad-risk lending and the subsequent unregulated and logic-defying bundling and trading of those bad-risk loans. While that is an opinion, not a fact, it is at least based upon established, verified facts.
