Wow, what a day for speculation in the NBA! First some black-and-white airbrush Brooklyn logos show up and now the city of New Orleans may be in danger of losing the Hornets franchise to those troublemakers up in Seattle. After the league’s recent purchase of the Hornets, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer coincidentally sold $1.4 billion worth of stock and he’s been very open about his desire to return a NBA franchise to the Emerald City.
Now I know what you’re thinking – “Burnsy, aren’t your abs naturally sculpted and isn’t it pretty common for a billionaire to just up and sell $1.4 billion worth of stock?” And to be honest, I read the figure “$1.4 billion” and lost control of my bowels, blacked out and woke up in a puddle of my own tears. Regardless, Seattle is making a push to replace the void left by the Sonics’ move to Oklahoma City after David Stern left a flaming bag of dog poop on the entire city’s doorstep.
Per the Seattle Post-Intelligencer…
“We’ve sat down, internally, to review what happened last time when the team left…We weren’t just looking at what happened previously, but what we think we could do moving forward, what are our range of options,” [Seattle Mayor Mike] McGinn told reporters during a press briefing Monday. “We’re open to talking to anyone in the private sector that’s looking at (bringing a team to Seattle). If there’s a real proposal out there to bring them here, we’d love to talk.”
But hold the phone, because there’s a strong push coming from Louisiana politicians and do-gooders to keep the Hornets from being that team involved in talks, and leading the way is Louisiana’s governor Bobby Jindal, who met with New Orleans’ heavy hitters yesterday to organize a game plan with Mayor Mitch Landrieu and interested investors. And once they cross this endeavor off their list, maybe they can send me a box of beignets from Café du Monde because those little bastards are delicious.

Wait a minute, who’s moving from Columbus to Yonkers? It better not be me. I will continue to hold that phone nonetheless.
Oh my God, Old Man Clemens hates shit.
To be frank, maybe 3 people in NOLA give a shit about the Hornets.
The Hornets will be sent to Seattle along with three cases of Dixie beer.
You’d think that people in Seattle would know better than to have anything to do with that lying scumbag
David Stern.
Ballmer aint buying no team, hes cashing in his chips as the company crumbles around them. Theyve closed over 50 dept and-or projects in the past 2 yrs. MS only two cash cows, the OS and Office have lost their lock-in powers with the web-cloud-Linux.à
Half a billion in advertising for that Windows Vista 7 Phone and it will fail like the Kin Phone before it.
You might as well pin up your hopes on parasite Paul Allen.
They should move the Hornets to Oklahoma City, and give Seattle their proper team back.
