The slew foot was on Callahan, But yes, you are correct. Crosby is the worst thing to happen to the NHL since the Fox laser puck.

In Crosby’s defense, cheapshots to Sean Avery are more than welcomed.

I wonder who would win in a slap fight, Crosby or Lindros.

“Crosby, in my mind, personifies everything I hate about the “new NHL”. this new wave of players aren’t forced to be accountable for their actions”
….yes, because superstar athletes in the NHL never got special treatment until now.
1993 semifinals, game 6 the leafs and kings, in overtime, gretzky slashes gilmour, which in turns causes blood, automatic 4 min penalty. Except if your name is wayne mutha fuckin’ gretzky
gilmour has to go to bench to clean wounds, gretzky scores on ensuing play.
this shit has been and will continue to go on as long as superstars make the highlight reel and win scoring titles. deal with it.

I’ve played hockey my entire life, through very high levels, and spent some time coaching and refereeing as well. Never once have I actually seen someone called for slew-footing, and I bet before reading some NY sportsguys crybaby report, you had never even heard the term.
Generally, if any call comes of that play, it’s usually tripping or interference, rather than called a slew, and often-times, it’s called, by players, announcers and coaches alike – just being tougher, smarter, or better on your skates than the guy (formerly) beside you.
Stick to what you know Punte. maybe you cover Avery’s next fashion show.

Funny how Dubbie has something to say about this, but was quiet when Avery sucker punched a guy, and Broken Jaw Prust jammed his thumb in Lucic’s eye in an attempt not to get concussed again.
Is it some sort of thing that as soon as you move to NY, you become a douche?

Man, thank god we have basketball, where stars never get preferential treatment and don’t whine to the officials so much they had to institute draconian technical foul rules this year.

Maybe he did it, maybe not. Who cares? I’d rather him get away with it than being over-penalized and fined like the NFL for ‘dangerous hits’. Hockey is the only sport left where you can openly fight and it’s alright. Stop complaining…

Reasonable minds can, and have, differed on whether or not this was a slew-foot. Ovie was punished last year for a more egregious slew-foot than this one. Haters gonna hate…
