Update: Just added a new video with even more yelling and adult behavior!
While most of the world *dismissive wank* was tuned in to last night’s matchup between the Cleveland Indians and the New York Yankees to see if admitted steroid user Alex Rodriguez would hit No. 600 (he didn’t), one young fan had a different reason for heading to Jacobs Progressive Field. With his loyal young lady at his side, a fan wearing his brand new LeBron James Miami Heat jersey found his way to his seats in the left field bleachers. And the Cleveland fans absolutely loved him.
Within a minute of arriving at his seats, this Miami “fan” was greeted with cheers, as many Indians fans in his section turned around and stood up to make sure that he was comfortable and to ask if he needed anything. “Can I buy you a hot dog,” one fan yelled. “Are you and the lady comfortable, fair sire,” another chimed in. And once the fan had proudly displayed his loyalty to the Heat, the entire section focused on the game and chanted, “Get him out! Get him out!” Obviously they meant the Yankee batter.
Wipe away a city’s tears, NBC Sports:
Fans in the left-field bleachers chanted obscenities and pointed at the man Wednesday night during the sixth inning of the Indians’ 8-0 loss to the New York Yankees. Hundreds of fans joined in before security led the man out of Progressive Field.
As he left, some fans followed him toward the gate with more derisive chants.
Below, you can watch what is labeled as Part 1 of one fan’s perspective at the game. By the handling of the camera I assume it was Paul Greengrass or Michael J. Fox, but nonetheless you can witness* the Heat fan’s bravery. I like to imagine Part 2 is filled with him using his girlfriend as a human shield. Seriously, that’s a quality woman, because either she knew his plans and still supported him or she was completely surprised by the reaction and didn’t buckle into a heap of highlights and tears.
*See what I did there, Cleveland?

This actually kind of sucks for that guy; as far as I can tell he got kicked out for wearing a jersey to a sporting event? I mean he was being an asshole but why reward him with the attention he obviously wants?
Also, my punctuation there sucked. Oh well.
Ah, wiggers. Don’t ever change.
He was kicked out just for wearing the jersey? So much for that whole “free speech” thing… If it indeed went down this way, hopefully he can get a nice settlement out of it.
Stay classy, Cleveland.
I like the idea of a Miami-Cleveland rivalry. I mean, the two cities have so much in common (in that they both have weather, are near water, are made out of buildings, and are full of people) that it’s pretty much inevitable they’d develop a rivalry at some point.
Stay classy, Cleveland.
That’s a quote from Anchorman. It’s hilarious and you can use it anywhere. Just change the city to which ever city did something that was, and here’s the best part, NOT classy!
If he pulled that kinda shit in Philly and Yankee Stadium, he would’ve never made it home. I feel sorry for the poor dumb bitch who went to the game with him.
Video not showing up?
I’m not sure what’s going on with the video. Everyone I asked said it came up fine, but one person emailed me that it doesn’t show up. Shows up fine for me.
would have been more ballsy if he convinced his lady friend to wear a Jose Mesa jersey.
I love the accented “asswole
This marks the first time in recorded history someone with a Yankees jersey isn’t the biggest asshole in a crowd.
Notice there is a guy in a Yankees jersey talking shit? Cleveland sucks big time.
It looks like there are more Pirates fans in Cleveland than in Pittsburgh.
@flexorz – Why are you yakking about free speech? Did you see anyone with a badge? Does any government own the Cleveland Indians or Progressive Field? No and no. Which means no state actors, which means no First Amendment rights at issue.
If he sues, he’ll lose, because it’s a stupid fucking claim. All clubs claim the right to kick out whomever they want, whenever they want, for basically any reason, including what some idiot is wearing.
Mustache is correct. If he got anything back at all it would be his ticket price. If it’s a private person and not the a government actor depriving you or your rights, then the Bill of Rights is not applicable.
Cleveland sucks.
I’m sure Lebron feels better about his decision now, I know I sure do.
obviously LeBron made the right choice to leave these idiot fans behind to do stuff like this…nice one cleveland, looking real classy right now.
Moustache, if the club has a problem with what he was wearing then they shouldn’t have granted his entrance in the first place. the guy definitely has a claim to a refund on his ticket price.
and yes, Cleveland sucks. welcome back to obscurity you fawks.
All it took was a few hundred fans chanting together to get him kicked out? Next time I go to a game I’m starting a chant of “Remove that girl’s top!” Also, now that Lebron is gone the only thing that Cleveland has going for them is that they aren’t Detroit.
